First discovered this magical place in 1983 when my daughter was 3 months old. Have stayed in the hotel and most of the cottages over the years - as has my now grown up daughter with her own children. This month we met up there with my son his wife and their 8 month old. Jane and Rod would be so proud of how Angus and Beth have taken this challenging place on. Its a huge building to maintain, let alone the several cottages , but they are plugging away at it and it's more homely than it ever was. The food was outstanding, we were spoilt for choice with such an imaginative menu and everything was cooked to perfection. Though we booked the restaurant each night we also ate in the bar at lunchtime and even found we were able to have a cream tea on spec with the most delicious fresh scones. My son stayed in the Roundhouse , which we too have stayed in , and it really is a lovely experience. All the other cottages offer all sorts of options for accomodating couples, families or groups. Don't expect luxury, they are homely and perfect for sandy beaches, dogs, children and the odd rainy day! On the way we stayed at an Air bnb which was like living in an Insatgram picture - never again! I could go on forever about this place, I can't imagine why anyone would not give this 5 stars. As someone else has said here - perhaps they're just not Druidstone people......
