We have just been on a weekend stay at Det Gamle Raadhus in Graasten. The place is nicely and charmingly furnished, the self-service check-in works fine and the breakfast table is also ok.
But the room has been obscenely cold. We have only been able to stay under the covers. It was frosty outside and yet there was virtually no heat on the single radiator, which was only slightly lukewarm at the top. The heat is remote-controlled, so you can do nothing yourself. We telephoned a nice girl who made up the reception, who actually also thought it was cold in the hotel, but the caretaker claimed that there was the temperature that should be 21.7 degrees and was not allowed to regulate further for the boss.
It was so cold, as cold as we have never experienced anything like it.
We also found out on Google that the hotel is for sale. There is clearly someone who is put in charge of getting the best possible short-term operation to achieve the best possible sale price.
Our clear recommendation is therefore: STAY AWAY UNTIL IT IS SPRING AND SUMMER or until there are new owners who are willing to open up the heat. The cold simply ruins the stay and it's not worth it - and the stay wasn't that cheap either.
