Hampton Inn Norfolk

Overall the hotel was good. I booked an accessible room to accommodate my mobility scooter and for walk in shower with seat. First they gave me a hearing accessible room, which was not what i booked, nor would it fit my scooter and had a normal bath. After going to the front desk, they changed my room. In the room, the bathroom had a tub with a transfer chair but no legs, just on the ledge of the tub. While showering and moving to do so, the seat came off the edge , dropping me into the tub. This is something that definitely needs to be dealt with and a hazard. I bright it to the attention of the front desk when checking out and hopefully they put a safer solution.

It was centralized around the heart of Norfolk.

I have extended family in the area and have stayed in this hotel several times. This is not my first review of this hotel. I wanted to mention that this hotel has now received a sorely needed renovation. What an improvement! The mattresses in particular were worn out the last time I was here. The mattresses are now very nice as are the pillows. The bathroom is very well done with four places to hang towels. The food layout in the breakfast area is well thought out and flows nicely. I’ve had issues with HVAC noise on the roof when staying on the top floor. This time I requested a lower floor, and this eliminated the problem. The walls are thin, though. I could hear the man next to us yawning. I’m glad there wasn’t a loud group next to us. Overall, this is the nicest hotel in town, and it will continue to be my go-to.

Our stay here was awesome from the time I walked in to check-in to the time we chevked out. Every staff member we had interaction with was polite, friendly and very helpful. The staff was so helpful when part of our family was unable to make it because of weather, they canceled the reservation without any problem. We will definitely stay here on our next trip.
