Wyndham Garden Norfolk Downtown

The staff was nice but hotel was not in good shape. We were coming to this city to see our daughter’s school function. Then the tropical storm hit, and the event was cancelled. I tried to cancel 48 hours in advance but they did not allow. I even asked if we could just get a rain check and use it when the event was ti be rescheduled 4 weeks later. They said no. Like I said though, the staff was very nice.

Customer service was wonderful everyone was nice and helpful. Samiya at the front desk was very helpful and pleasant. Dinner was great in the restaurant they were busy and it was a wait for the food but they had others come and help out. Over all I would highly recommend this hotel for vacation

I travel for work regularly and this is one of the worst hotels I’ve come across in a long time. After checking in, I discovered that my toilet did not flush. I called the front desk and to their credit they moved me very fast. Once I arrived in the new room I went to take a shower. The shower knob was nearly unusable. I would have to turn it around and around occasionally hitting patches of water and occasionally turning off. I’d just have to keep spinning it until I eventually landed on a hot patch of water. By this time I wasn’t interested in moving to a third room, so I decided to put up with it. There are four elevators in the lobby and at my time of arrival only two were operating. Later in my stay I became stuck in one of the two operating elevators. There are no elevator inspection certificates hanging in the elevator, and no sign indicating that they are available for review in the office. We eventually got out, and the staff did not do anything to investigate why this happened. They allowed the elevator to continue running for a full day, and several of my colleagues also became stuck in it before they turned it off. By the end of my stay only one of four elevators was operational. I also discovered in my room an exposed electrical outlet. As for the hotel itself, it has been recently renovated, but in a very sloppy manner. It’s nice if you don’t look too close but upon further inspection it is quite rough. My feet were black from walking on the floor in my room. The pool around back was green and had trash floating in it. I saw a roach near the back entrance. The list goes on and on. This hotel needs attention, and until management can address these issues, I would book elsewhere.

Internet was down for a few hours. Room temperature was set and not adjustable, and cold air was coming out sometimes. Only one staff member filled the reception station. Room was not clean. Hair dryer was not working. Overall I would not book another stay at this hotel.

Great place to stay for Virginia international tattoo just walked across street. Our room on sixth floor had just been renovated. Very new and clean. King bed was very comfortable. Lobby was very nice. Restaurant was just ok. Only ate there for breakfast buffet and it was adequate. Front desk manager and others were very helpful

The noise coming from the heating system was terrible the next-door guest was playing games very loud in the next room the walls do not allow for privacy or soundproofing.

Naomi at the front desk, was kind and compassionate. I was having an emotional moment, she was concerned and showed a level of humanity not seen every day. Thank you for that. She made the end of day better. My room was very clean, crispy cold, and perfect for getting a great nights rest.
