We had reserved this room as an overnight stay on the way to Florida. We thought it would be nice to stop in Charleston. I will admit we did not stay the night. We didn't stay because the room not only smelled like cigarettes but was crawling with bugs. Yes visibly crawling with insects. I don't know what they were some looked like palmettos but not something we were willing to risk. To managements credit they refunded us the room.

The night staff thru our employee out in the middle of the night saying there was no reservation. Even though it was paid and new reservation was made. The didn’t have a problem taking the money

I did not check in.
The parking lots had several homeless people with grocery carts full of their belongings.
The counter clerk was rude and said I could not check-in for another 40 mins unless I paid more, I refused and left.
