Holiday Inn Express & Suites North Conway

My room was not ready at check it and was told to come back in 30 mins and got checked in and unloaded luggage and got to room and it still wasnt ready. Had to load car back up and come back hour and half later. Hotel was under construction and if i new when booked i would have chosen a different hotel. Seating area was being used for construction storage so there was no where for my family to comfortably eat breakfast.

The reception was horrible at check-in and check-out, staff not friendly, people who barely answered questions. We had to get breakfast and eat it in the room, go up with the food holding a cardboard tray through the elevator full of people in the same situation because the breakfast area was closed due to renovations and no one warned us before we arrived, maybe for fear of canceling the trip, anyway. Horrible experience.

It is very dated but clean. Breakfast included which is a plus. Would stay again in the future.

Very noisy. Didn’t look like many people were staying there. Yet there were elephants above me and loud talkers next to me, as well as people having loud conversations in the hallway at 11pm. Maybe spread guests out a little?

The water was not running in the bathroom in the night. It finally turned on around 8 AM.

The hotel is under renovation which was not relayed to us. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Still decorated for fall, not a big deal. Pool area was very dirty as far as tables, you also need new noodles for pool

The staff were helpful and considerate. Unfortunately the building is undergoing renovations inside and outside. There were sections sealed off for construction. With no cleaning service provided we took care of our own needs - putting our towels and garbage in the hall and picking up fresh towels from the front desk.

I am a Diamond Elite Member. I have stayed at "many" Holiday Inns and they ALWAYS thank me for being a Diamond Elite Member, but not this Holiday Inn. So here it is, February 2024 and the hotel is STILL under renovation. Read previous reviews to see others reviews as well. Stayed on the 3rd floor and as you come off the elevator, there is plastic from rooms 316 on up. And the breakfast area is also under construction. Made my reservations back in Nov 2023. Had I known that there was going to be this much construction during my stay, would not have made reservations to stay here. As for the room, it smelled pretty bad and there was some fragrance/scent that was used to mask it. The carpet smells and the bathroom smells like mildew. The room overall is outdated. There is a refrigerator but no microwave. In the lobby, they have 3 pots of coffee, 2 for regular and 1 for Decaf. They have sugars and creamers. There are also several flavors of tea bags to choose from as well as packets of hot chocolate, but no hot water available. Since the breakfast area was being renovated, they served breakfast in the lobby area across from the front desk. Paper trays were made available to carry breakfast up to your room. Reading the previous reviews along with my own experiences, it's obvious that customer service and health is not a priority with this North Conway hotel. I too agree that the Board of Health should shut this place down until it's safe for guests.
