Best Western Fort Myers Waterfront

Great room, great service, great breakfast!

This is a great little hotel right on the water. We had read mixed reviews but the location and views including at breakfast were totally worth it. Super relaxing, quiet and serene. Check-in was so fast I wish every place was like this. Totally hassle free and easy with super friendly staff. It's a best western so don't expect a super fancy resort or high end hotel (although we would have traded this room for one at one of those places a few nights ago.) The room was huge with all the amenities we needed including an actual balcony you can sit on, relax and see the water. Staff was so friendly and helpful including with dietary concerns at breakfast. Fresh OJ delicious, took some to go. Very close to eateries and things to do. We were just stopping through but would have stayed more than one night if we had planned it. It might need a little paint in the bathroom (which was huge) or have a little rust but it was very clean and accommodating. The bed and pillows were great and the wifi worked. Pretty pool area but we didn't have time to use it. Plenty of parking. All the rooms have exterior doors but all seem to have a waterfront view. We would stay here again especially for the price.

This is the third time we have stayed here, but it will be our last. It's easy to recognize that this is an old hotel. There have been bits and pieces of renovations, but it is so inconsistent that it still just looks old. The positives are the rooms are clean and spacious and the view is outstanding. One of our frustrations was how the front desk operates. There are phones in the room that tell you to dial O for the front desk. But no one ever answers. Ever. Secondly, I don't know if this is normal or just our room, but we did not have a blanket or bedspread or comforter on our bed. Really. All we had were two sheets. There were no blankets stashed anywhere in the room. We were freezing. And we were unable to change the temperature in our room. I don't know if you are supposed to be able to change it or not, because we couldn't reach anyone to help us. And given that we were ready to go to bed when we discovered these things, we didn't want to get dressed and walk all the way over to the office to talk to someone. We just kept calling, like their phone indicated. In the morning when we were leaving I realized I had received a text message that said if we needed anything to text back. I would have loved to have had solutions to these issues, as we ended up having a horrible night sleep. The hotel needs to make this loud and clear that they don't answer the phone and you can only get help by texting. Very frustrating to not talk to someone.

We visited this Best Western in February 2026. While the location was lovely, we were very disappointed with our stay. Toilet required repair, needed to take tank cover off with each use to adjust the float so toilet could be flushed. Even more dissapointing was that shower faucet did not work and we were unable to run shower. Called front desk and were told maintenance would arrive shortly to address these issues. 2+ hours later we checked out, never having been visited by maintenance staff. Upon checkout we asked to speak with manager, who apparently was not on site. Reached out by email twice since our visit, but never recieved a response from manager, Amanda. Also, hallways, restaurant could use a good cleaning.

The Best Western Waterfront has great views and a hardworking staff. The facility is old and tired. Rooms need updating. Lamp shades had holes and were rusty. The carpet left your barefeet black, The table was wobbly. The drapes were stained as was the carpet. There were black spots on the ceiling. The landscaping at the rear of the first floor units needs replaced, Pool furniture is bleached and some chaise lounges had holes. Beach umbrellas need replaced. Breakfast area had broken chairs and the floor looked dirty. Former TV sets are gone and not replaced as were the computers in the business center.

The location of the hotel is nice. It's wonderful to wake up and see the water. Hotel on site is also very nice. However, when we arrived at 4:30 (check in 4:00) our room was not ready. Was told it would be about an hour and they would call. went back after an hour and our room was ready but never received a phone call. Did not get the room that was reserved. Reserved a king and was given a room with 2 queens. My reservation was made five months prior to the trip. I think hotels should give priority to those that make their reservation that far in advance. Was told it was an upgrade to get a room with 2 queen beds and we were on a higher floor. being on a higher floor did not matter, and if I wanted two queen beds that is what I would have booked. It makes it difficult to plug in devices when there is only one nightstand between the two queen beds. I think it would also be nice if Best Western recognized their rewards members when they checked in. This happened the previous evening at another Best Western and it always happens at Marriott. It would have been nice to be given two bottles of water as the water at this hotel does not taste very good. Breakfast was just okay. They did not have enough seating.
