There was a constant banging noise coming from around our room. Sounded like work being done or something. It’s 9:00 and it’s still going on. I called downstairs but got no one, just the answering machine. After a while we figured it was the swinging door to the kitchen. It should be quiet after they close, I hope, but it’s well past nine and it’s still going. Don’t take room 204 if you want to get some rest. The restaurant was good and the food delicious. Pricey though.

Limited parking, small rooms but clean and quiet. Staff were friendly and helpful. Check in was quick. The food was incredibly delicious!

The friendliest and most welcoming staff I’ve ever encountered at a hotel. From front desk, to kitchen staff, bartender, waitstaff…everyone went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. Very cool Inn I’m a very cool location. We will definitely go there again.

Simply wonderful. Spent New Year's Eve there, and it was like being in a movie. Dinner was a delight with fireworks, our room was so comfy, and we loved it. The owners were in attendance, and solicited opinions and comments. It was honestly a perfect evening.

All I can say is the new owners know what they are doing! They've captured the historic essence of the inn without feeling dated and still providing modern conveniences. The rooms are beautifully renovated. We stayed in the Tappan Room. Crisp clean decor with antique bedside tables and modern lamps that double as wireless chargers for your devices. Traditional white tiled bathroom with clawfoot tub, and modern rainfall showers plus towel warmers!! Breakfast is outstanding! No dried up bagels or stale cereals here - fresh eggs, bacon, sausage, french toast, and fresh fruit beautifully served. If you are not a fan of older homes, you may not appreciate the narrow staircases and imperfect floors. Handicap accessibility was not a consideration when the inn was originally built. If you can overlook that, you'll be rewarded with spectacular views of the lake, scrumptious food, and top notch service.

We couldn't wait to arrive here for a few days of rest after traveling though Vermont for a week and it didn't disappoint! Everybody was so friendly, our room on the water was to die and breakfast every morning was superb. If the weather had been better would have extended our stay since it was so relexing.

Such a disappoin**ent. I wanted so much to love this place, and to officially designate it as my new hangout for me and my crew. The interior design is beautiful. The a**osphere: sumptuous, but in the end, accommodations were lacking and misleading. I was promised certain accommodations on a very off season, off night evening. My credit card was charged over $200 for the night for a room that resembled a hostel (couldn’t have been more than 250 ft.² in size) similar to one which a weary traveler would possibly stumble upon in an Eastern European village. Realizing that I was the only guest in house and not feeling the “VIP” vibe, I ultimately decided to retreat and find accommodations elsewhere. As of this writing, I am expecting that the owners will issue me a refund to my credit card for this unfortunate experience as I literally spent 30 seconds in the room. I am also optimistic that the new owners will put the pieces together and offer the impeccable service that this historic property deserves (side kudos for the undertaking, rehab and inves**ent). I have read so many fabulous things about the design couple who have repurposed this property and I wish them the best of luck, but kinks still need to be worked out. Look forward to trying again soon.

The North Hero House is lovely and cozy, beautifully decorated and welcoming. My room was small but perfect for one person /one night. Might have been a little tight for 2 people. I had dinner in the restaurant and the food was delicious (fish and chips, very generous portions, salt and pepper fries!) and the service was friendly and efficient. I had to leave early the next morning (7:30) and there was no coffee or tea available in the lobby; it would have been nice to grab a cup for the road even if breakfast wasn't on tap yet. I got a breakfast sandwich and excellent coffee at Hero's Welcome Store just up the road, though, so I left town caffeinated and full!
