Stayed here for one night on way home.Had to wait past three o clock to get in room but staff very pleasant.Hotel still awaits refurbishment.Windows in room we’re old and warped and couldn’t open.Bathroom appeared to be more recently renewed.Both evening meal and breakfast very good.Avoid leisure club pool at tea time .Space for adult solo swimmers restricted.Once converts to voco and is refurbished I am sure it could acquire the fifth star

Letchworth Hall Hotel After staying here on numerous occasions, we would not stay at this hotel again after our last visit. The room we were allocated was far from acceptable. The bathroom was musty and the room was generally dingy and gloomy. As it was only for one night we put up with it. However after leaving the next morning I realised that I had left my coat in the wardrobe, so I rang the hotel. I gave them the room number and told them of the exact place where it was left in the wardrobe. (We have a friend who lives near to the hotel who could pick it up for us). The receptionist never rang back with its whereabouts so I contacted Head Office. Nothing happened and my coat has never been recovered. I feel that there is a dishonest element at this hotel and would not recommend it.

It's quite a feat to find a sprawling, interesting characterful building and turn it into a sterile, drab and joyless hotel. Let's give IHG the benefit of the doubt as this is 'work in progress' as they transition to a Voco hotel. The staff are excellent and the buffet breakfast perfectly acceptable. And the saving grace is thaet there are two decent pubs within a 10 minute walk. Just north of £100 for the night, so I'm not complaining.

Another great stay at this hotel. Have stayed here 3 times now. Breakfast was excellent and enjoyed a relaxing break. Used Sauna and pool at the gym next door. Staff are friendly and helpful. Look forward to coming back soon. Good choice of drinks at bar and good prices.

What a Fantastic hotel. Brilliant easy check in. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Would defiantly recommend. Rooms nice and beds very comfortable. Being able to use the spa is an extra bonus. Will be back. Thank you very much for a great stay

Regretfully I have never stayed in a poorer 4 star hotel than Letchworth Hall. I am astounded by the poor quality of the rooms, the decoration is more akin to a hostel rather than an IHG 4 star hotel. I was staying for business and missed an important company deadline due to wifi not being available. If you want privacy forget it, no net curtains in the room feels like you are in a goldfish bowl. Place needs significant captial investment to restore back to former glories however I wonder if the pockets and appetite are deep enough to fully restore to the standard it deserves. To add:- • Shower screen leaked resulting in a pool of water on the tiled bathroom floor making it dangerous to walk • The aircon unit leaked a puddle of water onto my bag • Some windows unopenable due to poorly painted maintenance on the frames • Window sills rough and unsanded just painted • Back of the remote control missing • Cap covering the shower controls missing • Sheet under the bed unmade and ravelling around you when you get in • No privacy due to no net curtains in any hotel rooms

Lovely, impressive building, well beyond expectations. We toured the gardens before the building. Well-marked route round the garden, though route for wheelchairs to the hall could be better signed. Lots of colour and impressive views of the hall from the garden. In the hall, the guides looked after my disabled wife well. It was not possible to access the upper floors, but they provided us with an audio guide and pictures of the various rooms, without extra charge. This was the next best thing to walking round and certainly less effort. Cafeteria on site. A fair choice of meals, though we found them not as warm as we should have liked.
