Gold Coast PIK Sea View Apartments by Rentrooms

I stayed on the Gold Coast for 6 nights. Due to uncertainty in my itinerary, I didn't book a continuous stay, but rather re-booked rooms daily. (It's a good thing I didn't book continuously, otherwise I wouldn't have experienced the variety of different hosts and properties. If I had stayed in this host's properties for all six days, I might have passed out.) For 4 out of 6 nights, I ended up booking properties from this host through Trip.com. (Perhaps my luck was bad, or maybe he simply has a lot of listings, because no matter how many times I booked, they were always his properties.) Since bookings couldn't be canceled, I had the 'privilege' of staying in four different properties from this host, each a different room. I can only say that this host clearly has no intention of properly maintaining the facilities and environment of his rooms. Why do I say this? The bedroom has a small balcony where the air conditioning outdoor unit is hung. Separated only by a glass door, the noise is immense, and there are no curtains installed. This means that as soon as morning arrives, the light affects your deep sleep (I will attach photos below). I can only warn those with poor sleep quality: unless you can tolerate not using air conditioning in the summer, once the AC starts, the roar of the outdoor unit makes you feel like you're working in a factory workshop. I understand this is a design flaw of the apartment unit and not entirely the host's fault. However, it suddenly reminded me of the saying, "I could have endured the darkness if I had not seen the light." For the same apartment layout, other diligent hosts would install soundproofing material on the small balcony and put up curtains. (Even if the noise isn't completely eliminated, you can definitely feel the host's sincerity and care in these details, including but not limited to, the TV having paid subscriptions, and the bathroom glass and faucets sparkling clean. Every detail shows the host's meticulous maintenance of the property. In contrast, this host truly pales in comparison.) As for the cleanliness of the rooms, I don't want to dwell on it. Check-in is usually after 3 PM, and check-out is 12 PM, meaning 3 hours for cleaning. To be frank, at most, they probably just changed the bedding set. If they truly spent three hours cleaning, the cleanliness of the four rooms wouldn't be this way. Another incredibly frustrating thing: after checking into this host's room, I booked a room for the second night on Trip.com, and to my surprise, it was still this host's property! He actually sent staff to knock on my door and wake me up at 10:30 AM, telling me the new room was ready and I could switch rooms. What kind of bizarre operation is this? Even if it's ready, shouldn't they wait until the normal check-out time before knocking on the door? I argued with the host on WeChat, and he tried to justify it by saying 10:30 AM wasn't early, and that he didn't command me to move, just notified me. Does he even know what he's saying? Sending staff up to knock on my door first thing in the morning, along with cleaning personnel, just to tell me the new room is ready for me to move into – is that the meaning? Do I need you to plan my rest time for me? Is 'early' decided by you? And then I was moved to the room with the extremely loud AC outdoor unit. I brought up wanting to change rooms, and he coolly replied with two words: "No way." You're really something. He even told me that if I wanted to continue staying, I should consider it myself, and that I must check out by 12 PM and check in after 3 PM. If I had known which property was his, I wouldn't have given him a single cent, even if I threw my money away. I've taken the time to write all this, hoping to warn future guests who need to stay in this apartment. Don't let people like this ruin your travel mood. The room isn't very big. The sofa bed is just a small foldable one right by the entrance, and it didn't come with sheets or a duvet, so I had to request them separately. There's a fridge and an electric stove for cooking, but the power suddenly went out while I was cooking breakfast. You have to walk over a kilometer to find places to eat nearby. The upside is that there's a nice view from upstairs.

Had a great stay, as always. I've stayed here many times. The hotel is conveniently located with plenty of amenities nearby.

Comfortable workspace! The room was clean and tidy, the staff were friendly, and the location was excellent. The swimming pool was great too. Super value for money! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The staff were warm and friendly, and very helpful during check-in. The room was also great. I would definitely come back next time.
