Lovely place really clean really nice but it says it’s got a spa but all it’s got is one room for massage and treatments so you can’t really call it a spa

The service and wedding coordination at Kilworth house was second to none. As a member of the bridal party I felt we were so well looked after. Special touches were made to ensure we all had a great meal the night before the wedding. The food was delicious. On the day of the wedding the chicken breast was one of the best I've had! The evening buffet was amazing and delicious, the selection of fish cakes, salads and pizza was dreamy! Everything on the day itself ran seamlessly - thank you to all the staff who were really lovely and friendly. I would 100% recommend this venue.

The rooms at the hotel are defo 5* unfortunately the service and food are not. I would like to state firstly that the staff are very nice and friendly The table service in the lounge for drinks is painfully slow and the drinks are pricey. We waited a long time from ordering to the actual drinks arriving. The food and the waiting on service however needs completely overhauling in my opinion We has an evening meal on the Saturday night. There were 13 of us in a very quite restaurant. The menu - we ate in the orangery- was very limited but I didn’t mind that as didn’t have to sit and decide for ages what I wanted. I plumped for the soup starter and the steak but there was a fair selection across the menu for the rest in my party (13 people). When the food arrived both starter and main took ages to come both courses were stone cold. We didn’t complain on the night as we were there celebrating someone’s birthday and didn’t want to make a scene. My steak was nice even though it was cold but my friend has sea bass that was cold and so overcooked that 75% of it was inedible. Anyway we all let that pass and finished off the evening which was quite flat as there was no atmosphere. No background music or anything. The next morning we all went to breakfast and again it was an absolute age before we were served. The continental aspect of the breakfast was a serve yourself affair but as we were near to last knocking there was next to nothing left and we had to ask for it to be replenished. When our cooked breakfast orders were finally taken we waited in anticipation. When they arrived which was not all together they were once again stone cold. There was also items missing which when we asked that said oh yes they are just being cooked and we will. Ring them out once they are ready. I mean! Why send out incomplete breakfasts? So I took a bite on my sausage to find it was cold and then felt the items which weee also cold. I sent it back - a replacement was bought out to me sometime later which once again was stone cold this time the mere was additional items missing which I was informed were being booked and would be bought to me once they were ready! Again an incomplete plate of food. The toast for the table bearing in mind there were 11 of us was 2 slices of brown bread cut in half!! We continually had to ask for more toast. This was also stone cold! Teas and coffees the same! One of our group has to explain the the waiter how to make an espresso! I did complain this time and we had the cost of the breakfast refunded to us. In summary when you go to a hotel charging the prices they charge you do expect at least a minimum level of service and food quality. This was not provided at Kilworth House and we left feeling very disappointed in our stay.

My husband and I went for afternoon tea, which was excellent! The service was wonderful; we had been to the hotel before and they remembered us and gave us a very warm welcome. Lots of people were celebrating various occasions around us and you could see that the team made everyone feel very special too! They catered for my dietary requirements (vegetarian and some food allergies) and were very attentive about it. The food was lovely, especially the cakes, and there was a good range of drinks options including varieties of tea. The Orangery is a stunning room with lovely ambience, but you can also sit in the lounge prior to your afternoon tea time, which gives you the chance to see more of the stunning hotel. Highly recommend!

Called in here for tea, the hotel is beautiful and very clean, we sat in a lovely lounge overlooking the garden, the staff were friendly and helpful, well worth a visit. We have been here many times usually before the wonderful theatre shows. You cannot book shows at the hotel they have to be booked by telephone or online.

What an absolutely beautiful place, the hotel and grounds are beautiful. Steeped in history with gorgeous decor. We booked for afternoon tea which at almost £30 per head ( without processo) was a real treat. So we really expected something lovely. Don't get me wrong, the orangery where we sat was beautiful, but the food a real let down. The finger sandwiches were odd and no option to change or choose. One goats cheese ( which we don't like) one ham and mustard which was ok and one chicken in curry mayo which we didn't like either. We had already asked if could exchange for normal mayo but this wasn't available. So probably pre made. It wasn't coronation chicken but a really strong curry mayo so we left those along with the goats cheese ones..... Was expecting something like cream cheese and cucumber, egg and watercress or prawn, Something a bit more traditional, especially in an old country house. An alternative choice would have been nice. Small slice of a herby sausage roll was tasty. The scones were also not amazing. We often have a scone out but these were some of the less appealing ones we had ever had. Didnt seem fresh, quite hard. The jam was delicious though ! Good selection of tea and coffee. Staff were lovely. Would we go again, unfortunately not, not even at half the price!!
