Lovely new hotel. Found the lighting a little dark in communal area but our eyes did adjust. A lot of high rise seating so not good for my 80 year old husband. Lots of people staying with dogs which we did not like them near the buffet area. Lots and lots of outside seating to just sit and watch the sea. Breakfast had plenty to offer but our cooked breakfast was cold and been sat too long in warmers. Staff very nice and helpful.

Called in for lunch having watched the transformation of the old Park hotel. First impressions were good, plenty of seats and everywhere looked nice and clean. Food was nice if a tad expensive. Big downer was the seating behind us where the occupants seemed to think it was ok to have their dog at the table on their lap! Staff either weren't aware or condoned it. When did this sort of behaviour become acceptable? Not a fan of dogs where food is anyway, but this is is beyond a joke. Put us off a return visit.

A newly refurbished hotel, at what I would estimate to be, great expense and done very well. Once again with this group of hotels, the staff were excellent and it's obvious they have been well trained to give good service. We really liked the buffet style breakfast, which gives flexibility of choice. The bar area being so large it was quite noisy, but that's not the hotels fault. I would imagine that overlooking the sea, in the summer holidays it will be even more busy. We enjoyed Tynemouth and this hotel and will probably stay again out of season.

Our room was tiny and cramped, no room to move. Previously it was probably a cupboard. Lunch and breakfast were excellent, so some good points there.

Chaotic, room103 was okay nothing special. Shower was lose on the wall no one to report it to on checking out as they were all hands to the pump on breakfast which was appalling. Kept running out it wasn’t overly busy, burnt sausages barely cooked bacon. Wife asked if there was anything vegetarian or vegan to met with no but there are beans tomatoes mushrooms and eggs on the hot plate… if she had looked they had ran out of beans mushrooms and eggs. 20mins to refill the orange juice… £241 for one night it’s really not worth it

What is there not to like? Not a single thing! I am really fussy and stayed in some top end hotels. So for me this was perfect, room, food and the best value breakfast ever even with a pancake maker. Recently refurbished Food was very good at the bar We were going to see a concert so the location worked for us Yes you can hear the metro but as a light sleeper it was not issue. The house keeping staff were amazing even remembering we were going out and asking how the concert was. Pre check in and check out Thoroughly recommended

I grew up knowing this hotel, so seeing it rise phoenix-like during the redevelopment was really exciting. We were not disappointed. A fabulous makeover, truly delightful and pleasant staff and excellent food and service. Well equipped, clean rooms nice furnishings. Well done!

I was a big supporter of the franchised "The Salt Cove" in the bar of this hotel, prior to it being taken over, so I had high hopes for the redevelopment. The hotel itself looks 100 times better than it did prior to redevelopment. It had stood neglected for years and had become an eyesore. The redevelopment is fantastic, the bar/restaurant area now really looks the business. BUT... I can't quite understand where the new owners are pitching. If they're pitching at high quality food - they've fallen far short. If they're pitching at a local drink hole - they've fallen far short. The food is average - the aim seems to be nice pub grub, but they haven't reached that standard. At present, I couldn't describe it as anything other than overpriced. At £16.50 for burger and chips, I'd expect something which really pleases, but what an is delivered is something you'd likely get a pint with for £7 at Wetherspoons. The prices are inflated on food and drink. It fails as a good quality eatery as there are cheaper, better quality options locally and it fails as the local pub because of the prices of the drinks. I appreciate that the Inn Group have spent a lot of money on this venue, but as a pub/restaurant, for me it's one I'd choose to walk past in favour of better options.

Excellent - very clean but virtually brand new so you would expect that. Some noise from the metro - may depend on which room you are allocated and some from the air conditioning/ heating unit to the rear of the hotel. Food good, service excellent- staff very friendly.
