The room is very large and comfortable, the stay experience is not bad, the sanitation facilities are OK, overall it is quite satisfactory, the reception service at the front desk is also very warm, that is, it is a little tired to go out and climb the slope.

We booked a twin room and was upgraded to a garden room which was a lovely surpise! Everyone in the hotel is very polite & helpful, amazing service! The room itself was very clean but average (reminded me of being in a marriott hotel in the room). We hardly got any sleep as we could hear people above us walking around / banging and doors slamming in the middle of the night and at 6.30am people were talking next door. The walls seem very thin (this is why I'm giving it a 4/5). Breakfast selection was limited espically for £17.

Ideal location for me to walk into town for shopping and eating out. Staff were excellent from reception to house keeping. Room service meals were good too Was a little disappointed as the bath was in need of replacing. The surface had peeled away and whilst it was ok for the shower, you wouldn't want to soak in it.

Lovely hotel. Great buffet breakfast. Lovely friendly staff on the desk. Executive king room was lovely and cleaned and replenished every day. Happily stay there again. One issue was parking as hotel car park was unavailable but an NCP car park is on the doorstep to use at a discounted rate but still worked out very expensive for 3 days. Would still not put me off staying there again.

We had arranged a weekend with friends in Nottingham and had booked 2 rooms. First morning the housekeeping staff came as we were leaving, for the day out we had planned. When we returned we expected our room to have been serviced, no towels at all in the room and no made bed. Nothing on the tea/ coffee tray had been replenished. When we rang reception to get some towels no one answered so after a long day we had to go down to reception to get them to get us some towels, after waiting nearly 5 mins while the reception staff ignored us we were told someone would bring us some towels. Next morning our friends went down to breakfast early before us, to be told it wasn’t included in the room - it was, and rather than check the booking they were very rudely told that they couldn’t have breakfast. They were not even offered the option to pay for a breakfast. They ended up going elsewhere for breakfast much to our embarrassment after we had arranged the weekend and booked the room. After speaking with reception they confirmed that breakfast was included and gave us a card saying we were entitled to breakfast - much use that is as our friends had already gone and had breakfast elsewhere and we were not offered a refund on our booking.

This is our second time staying at a Leonardo hotel. Reception were amazing!! Very helpful and informative about transport links and general sight seeing. Breakfast was not as good as the Leonardo I. Milton Keynes. Their fruit selection was a little poor, however the staff were friendly and accommodating. The bath in the room is the smallest one I have ever seen 😂 Albeit the power of the water in the shower and taps is 👌🏽 and quite possibly the best I have seen. Over all, a nice hotel! The beds are very comfortable and will rival any premier bed. We will defo be staying again 😍

It should be the original athlete village remodeling, the decoration is old, and the room is poorly soundproofed. The location is biased, but the scenery is good. Breakfast is served in general and things cannot be stored.

GGuest UserI came to the Crown Plaza, Nottingham for a conference early June. The hotel itself was nice, modern and comfortable. My room was not adequately cleaned as there were hairs in my shower upon arrival, unreplenished hygiene products in the bathroom and the toilet uncleaned. The room Itself was small, but fine for sleeping in. My TV did not work, but as it was one night this wasn’t a bother. The breakfast and lunch were great, formal dinner however was awful and poor, not worth paying for. Servers were unversed in allergen training, and the allergen and dietary requirement food options were awfully poor. The manager on duty however, was apologetic and wonderful. The best thing about this hotel was the staff (excusing F&B teams poor allergen training and food options). Particularly Abigail, Malakai and Zak on the bar who were so warm, polite and accommodating. Wonderful service throughout and a credit to the team. Thank you three.

GGuest UserRooms nice and clean, really good soaps in bathroom. Bathroom was always perfect temperature, nice heated floor. Kitchen well equipped though we only stayed one night so didn't need it. Beds comfy, generous with duvet and pillows! Had small problem in one room (William...) but Tatiana came to the rescue, late at night, she was so helpful!! I work customer service so know how awful customers can be when they have a problem, but Tatiana was a saint, nothing was too much trouble, she made us feel well cared for, sorted us out quickly and made us laugh.

GGuest UserIt’s very convenient to live in Mercury Hotel to plan a tour in Nottingham. Regarding the excellent location, I can only take 1-minute walk to the tram station named Lace Market, it takes you to Beeston or remote retail outlets within couple of minutes. Also, I takes leisure walks within few minutes to city centre for shopping at M&S, Primark, Victor Centre, etc. Besides, you may never forget supports/advice from the enthusiastic and knowledgeable hotel teams.

GGuest UserRoom very out dated and disappointing, loud bathroom fan that kept me up all night and no plug next to the bed (only on the other side of the room). Tea tray is tucked in to a cupboard with a false drawer so is dangerous when opened as you don't expect the whole cupboard to open on your arm. Breakfast was disappointing, both hot and cold selection were dry as if they had been sat for a long time. Not what you expect for £130 mid week stay. Only positive was the great staff at breakfast who were very friendly. Would not come back to this hotel if I was in the area.

GGuest UserMy husband and I have just returned from an overnight stay in this hotel. It must have been recently decorated as it is so clean and fresh everywhere. Our room was huge, with a super-king size bed comfortably accommodated within it. Lovely comfortable bed and clean bedding, and a bottle of water provided for each of us. There were tea and coffee making facilities; very welcome after a trek up and down to the castle! The bathroom was well-appointed, modern and clean. We had a view over the adjacent church, and although a footpath passed by we were not disturbed at all. The hotel is well-placed to visit the city, and there is a car park just round the corner. The parking fee is reduced if you verify your parking ticket at the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The Cock and Hoop next door doesn’t serve meals on a Sunday evening, but it didn’t matter as there is a range of restaurants within a few minutes walk. The building itself is old, and very interesting with steps up and down all over the place. Very attractive and quirky. Our breakfast was delicious. I have only one small issue. There is no plug near a mirror for using a hairdryer or hot brush, but that doesn’t detract from the score.

GGuest UserI have been staying here for 3 days a week since May 2023 and overall, I have to say that the accommodation is great, so my review is as follows. If you are driving get the Ringo Parking App on your phone as it makes the parking opposite much cheaper. It's less than 100 yards from the car park to the door. The Dwell has a system where you get a unique code to the front door and your room door (the codes are the same) so keep your code private. The hotel has a lift but it's been out of order all the time I have been there so it's stairs. You MUST ask for a ground floor room if you need one. I have had one every stay. When you get to your room the first thing you may notice is how clean it is, I have commented many times on the cleanliness. The hotel has a system where there is an iPad by the bed to run all the functions in the room the TV Air conditioning etc. At times I have struggled with the iPad but overall, it is good. There is a small kitchenette with a microwave, Why they don't have instructions for the microwave I do not know, I have joked about it a few times. You cannot even see the make so you can get them yourself. I have used the microwave to warm up a meal more by luck than judgment The bathroom is great, very nice shower, and again very clean. So that is the Dwell, I am there next week I think its great accommodation with a couple of minor negatives but overall VERY GOOD

GGuest UserWe were very happy overall with our stay and the hotel itself. There were a few minor points, such as the child bed was low to the ground (albeit comfy). I believe the family rooms can also cater for two children, which would be very cramped, but this was not an issue for us, with just the one. It would have been nice if we'd been told in advance that you have to put your key card in a holder in the room in order to make the lights work, instead of being left to work this out ourselves. Also, the bathroom had no extractor fan in it, which seems a very strange design feature, assuming that the designers realised what humans sometimes need to use en-suites for! The main bed was amazing: huge and extremely comfy - the comfiest we've found in any hotel/accommodation for a very long time; and the telly (also huge) was brilliant. The 'untuned-in TV-design' decor (carpets and wallpaper) is a bit retro and the furniture quite 'Rocky Horror' coloured - which seems maybe a bold choice, but you seen get used to it! Breakfast was fantastic, with loads to choose from and very tasty. The pool is also top-notch. Overall, we were very happy and would definitely return again.

GGuest UserStayed for two nights on a dbb meal on the first night included hotel has had a full refurbishment which is lovely our room was nice and big and bathroom full walk in shower I was a bit concerned before we went at some reviews about the rooms but i needed have worried also people were complaining about the restaurant saying they waited a long time for there food but we didn’t experience that Carrie and Lucy looked after us very well in fact we ate there the second night to the only criticism we had was my husband had the sirloin steak the first night which he said was excellent but the second night he had it again but it was tough and not as tasty when asked if we enjoyed our food we told Lucy the steak was tough and not as good as the night before to which she replied it was a different chef which should’ve have made that difference also no mushrooms at breakfast which apparently they don’t use which I find most strange as they are always a breakfast item , but it wouldn’t stop us recommending the hotel the offer we had was very good value and staff very friendly.

GGuest UserSet in lovely grounds this imposing building is full of history but like some many hotels of this age needs a big face lift. The only modernised area I came across was the toilets just off reception. The Main bar area with leather bound (not certain if faux?) and chesterfields is a lovely place in which to sit and relax with a drink. Looking up there is a balcony which is walked along to reach the bedrooms thereby offered a different perspective when looking down. I booked a king room with breakfast and asked if could have a nice view, and was told there were only a couple of rooms with poor views anyway so I need not worry?! Well the room we had number 14 had four small windows looking out on to the rear of the hotel. And the view included a heavily wooded area of wheelie bins - so much for the view; in hindsight we should have asked for another room. The first morning the breakfast was a 'help yourself' and all of the food was just warm - not hot. The coffee poured from a jug was also only warm. However on the second morning my full english was cooked to order and very tasty, but again the coffee was only warm. This was remedied when I asked a waitress if she would change it. The room was spacious though and the bed comfy, shower adequate and tea and coffee facilities acceptable. Staff were helpful and generally cheerful. Lastly it is no longer run by Best Western. A very interesting place to stay if visiting Nottingham and not too far to drive in to the town.

GGuest UserWe stayed for two nights to attend a concert. The room was reasonably clean and had everything for a short stay- kettle, tea and coffee etc, tv, dressing table with chair, wardrobe, bedside drawers, telephone, free Wi-Fi, plenty of plug sockets inc two usb sockets. Hand wash in bathroom had run out but we had shower gel provided. The mirrors could have been cleaner, and there were some stains on the walls. However, the bed was comfortable and clean, and the room was airy and surprisingly quiet. Free parking. Friendly and helpful manager and staff- happy to call a local taxi for you if required. Ideal location with a well served bus stop outside to take you into the city (£2 contactless payment). Lidl store opposite, alongside a great chippy, and a good family pub. No breakfast provided but hot food from outside allowed to be taken to rooms. For those with realistic expectations looking for a cheap overnight stay (we paid £49 a night) this is a good choice. Would definitely stay again, many thanks!
