receptionist Daniel(male) was horrible. He almost denied me entry as I did not have a passport.I showed him my work ID with photo for which refused.I had stayed here twice before and the stay was good and the staff(females )were very polite. However guy was arrogant and discriminative. He said he wont bothe if i don't rebook the hotel in future.I came to rest after ork and this guy pissed me off and could not sleep well due to this horrific experience from the receptionist.I was very upset because of this guy. When I told him that i stayed there before twice for which he started blaming his colleagues and said they did not do their job properly. This guy needs serious professional ethics training to behave well with customers . He was indifferent in his poor attitude and said he wont bother if I rebook or not!

We stayed for two nights to attend a concert. The room was reasonably clean and had everything for a short stay- kettle, tea and coffee etc, tv, dressing table with chair, wardrobe, bedside drawers, telephone, free Wi-Fi, plenty of plug sockets inc two usb sockets. Hand wash in bathroom had run out but we had shower gel provided. The mirrors could have been cleaner, and there were some stains on the walls. However, the bed was comfortable and clean, and the room was airy and surprisingly quiet. Free parking. Friendly and helpful manager and staff- happy to call a local taxi for you if required. Ideal location with a well served bus stop outside to take you into the city (ÂŁ2 contactless payment). Lidl store opposite, alongside a great chippy, and a good family pub. No breakfast provided but hot food from outside allowed to be taken to rooms. For those with realistic expectations looking for a cheap overnight stay (we paid ÂŁ49 a night) this is a good choice. Would definitely stay again, many thanks!

Itâs very convenient to live in Mercury Hotel to plan a tour in Nottingham. Regarding the excellent location, I can only take 1-minute walk to the tram station named Lace Market, it takes you to Beeston or remote retail outlets within couple of minutes. Also, I takes leisure walks within few minutes to city centre for shopping at M&S, Primark, Victor Centre, etc. Besides, you may never forget supports/advice from the enthusiastic and knowledgeable hotel teams.

This is our second time staying at a Leonardo hotel. Reception were amazing!! Very helpful and informative about transport links and general sight seeing.
Breakfast was not as good as the Leonardo I. Milton Keynes. Their fruit selection was a little poor, however the staff were friendly and accommodating.
The bath in the room is the smallest one I have ever seen đ Albeit the power of the water in the shower and taps is đđ˝ and quite possibly the best I have seen.
Over all, a nice hotel! The beds are very comfortable and will rival any premier bed.
We will defo be staying again đ

The hotel is conveniently located. Rooms were clean and well equipped. Beds were comfortable. We used the spa but not the gym. Both were well equipped and maintained. Good for relaxing after the journey. There was no evening dining as it was a Sunday but that had been well signposted beforehand so we were able to arrange an alternative. Staff were very helpful and professional at all times. Would not hesitate to rebook.

We stayed in the hotel over the weekend (Fri, Sat & Sunday) as we were attending âThe Gloworm Festivalâ with other family members who were glamping. The room was small, but was perfect for our activity which was get up, get ready, and go out to the festival! We slept like logs as the beds were nice and comfy. Using the bedroom as a base to be located in and to safely store our belongings was perfect. The TV in our room was the size of a postage stamp but who cares, we were at the festival. It fit the bill for our needs so we give it a thumbs up. On leaving we spent a few minutes chatting to a lovely staff member who brought some festive cheer to my mood (I am sorry I did not catch the gent's name but we will call him âSanta Klausâ for those who know! But what a lovely man to have at the reception desk. Was it the best hotel I have visited, no. Was it the worst, no. But for our weekend it did all we asked for and for all that was needed. A safe warm place to sleep with safe parking and nice staff.

Outstanding
GGuest UserIdeal location for me to walk into town for shopping and eating out. Staff were excellent from reception to house keeping. Room service meals were good too
Was a little disappointed as the bath was in need of replacing. The surface had peeled away and whilst it was ok for the shower, you wouldn't want to soak in it.
GGuest UserI came to the Crown Plaza, Nottingham for a conference early June. The hotel itself was nice, modern and comfortable. My room was not adequately cleaned as there were hairs in my shower upon arrival, unreplenished hygiene products in the bathroom and the toilet uncleaned. The room Itself was small, but fine for sleeping in. My TV did not work, but as it was one night this wasnât a bother. The breakfast and lunch were great, formal dinner however was awful and poor, not worth paying for. Servers were unversed in allergen training, and the allergen and dietary requirement food options were awfully poor. The manager on duty however, was apologetic and wonderful. The best thing about this hotel was the staff (excusing F&B teams poor allergen training and food options). Particularly Abigail, Malakai and Zak on the bar who were so warm, polite and accommodating. Wonderful service throughout and a credit to the team. Thank you three.
GGuest UserMy husband and I have just returned from an overnight stay in this hotel. It must have been recently decorated as it is so clean and fresh everywhere. Our room was huge, with a super-king size bed comfortably accommodated within it. Lovely comfortable bed and clean bedding, and a bottle of water provided for each of us. There were tea and coffee making facilities; very welcome after a trek up and down to the castle! The bathroom was well-appointed, modern and clean. We had a view over the adjacent church, and although a footpath passed by we were not disturbed at all. The hotel is well-placed to visit the city, and there is a car park just round the corner. The parking fee is reduced if you verify your parking ticket at the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The Cock and Hoop next door doesnât serve meals on a Sunday evening, but it didnât matter as there is a range of restaurants within a few minutes walk. The building itself is old, and very interesting with steps up and down all over the place. Very attractive and quirky. Our breakfast was delicious. I have only one small issue. There is no plug near a mirror for using a hairdryer or hot brush, but that doesnât detract from the score.
GGuest UserI travel all over the country for football away days and stay in most towns for long trips or midweek games. I've been to Nottingham many times but never stayed here. Had no idea there was such a nice hotel literally on the station. It's one of the best independent hotels I've ever been to. Lovely staff, small hotel with only 12 rooms but all large, cosy and very clean. Slept really well even though I had an early train. Really nice bar lounge full of armchairs and vintage nik naks and decorations and drinks very well priced. Pleasantly surprised and will stay again if ever in Nottingham. Location is perfect.
GGuest UserLovely hotel. Great buffet breakfast. Lovely friendly staff on the desk. Executive king room was lovely and cleaned and replenished every day. Happily stay there again. One issue was parking as hotel car park was unavailable but an NCP car park is on the doorstep to use at a discounted rate but still worked out very expensive for 3 days. Would still not put me off staying there again.
GGuest UserWe were very happy overall with our stay and the hotel itself. There were a few minor points, such as the child bed was low to the ground (albeit comfy). I believe the family rooms can also cater for two children, which would be very cramped, but this was not an issue for us, with just the one. It would have been nice if we'd been told in advance that you have to put your key card in a holder in the room in order to make the lights work, instead of being left to work this out ourselves. Also, the bathroom had no extractor fan in it, which seems a very strange design feature, assuming that the designers realised what humans sometimes need to use en-suites for! The main bed was amazing: huge and extremely comfy - the comfiest we've found in any hotel/accommodation for a very long time; and the telly (also huge) was brilliant. The 'untuned-in TV-design' decor (carpets and wallpaper) is a bit retro and the furniture quite 'Rocky Horror' coloured - which seems maybe a bold choice, but you seen get used to it! Breakfast was fantastic, with loads to choose from and very tasty. The pool is also top-notch. Overall, we were very happy and would definitely return again.
GGuest UserStayed for two nights on a dbb meal on the first night included hotel has had a full refurbishment which is lovely our room was nice and big and bathroom full walk in shower I was a bit concerned before we went at some reviews about the rooms but i needed have worried also people were complaining about the restaurant saying they waited a long time for there food but we didnât experience that Carrie and Lucy looked after us very well in fact we ate there the second night to the only criticism we had was my husband had the sirloin steak the first night which he said was excellent but the second night he had it again but it was tough and not as tasty when asked if we enjoyed our food we told Lucy the steak was tough and not as good as the night before to which she replied it was a different chef which shouldâve have made that difference also no mushrooms at breakfast which apparently they donât use which I find most strange as they are always a breakfast item , but it wouldnât stop us recommending the hotel the offer we had was very good value and staff very friendly.
GGuest UserFantastic stay. Staff extremely friendly, especially. John and Dominic who work behind the bar. The rooms are fabulous, showers amazing. Would definitely recommend this hotel if you're coming to Nottingham for trip.
GGuest UserWe had arranged a weekend with friends in Nottingham and had booked 2 rooms. First morning the housekeeping staff came as we were leaving, for the day out we had planned. When we returned we expected our room to have been serviced, no towels at all in the room and no made bed. Nothing on the tea/ coffee tray had been replenished. When we rang reception to get some towels no one answered so after a long day we had to go down to reception to get them to get us some towels, after waiting nearly 5 mins while the reception staff ignored us we were told someone would bring us some towels. Next morning our friends went down to breakfast early before us, to be told it wasnât included in the room - it was, and rather than check the booking they were very rudely told that they couldnât have breakfast. They were not even offered the option to pay for a breakfast. They ended up going elsewhere for breakfast much to our embarrassment after we had arranged the weekend and booked the room. After speaking with reception they confirmed that breakfast was included and gave us a card saying we were entitled to breakfast - much use that is as our friends had already gone and had breakfast elsewhere and we were not offered a refund on our booking.
Thank you Bestwood Lodge for pulling off the best day of our life. We got married here recently and we have been planning this for almost 2 years with Bestwood Lodge and I must say all my appointments were very attentive and helpful. Brent and the team understood the assignments and I know I very demanding at time but nothing was too much for him and I could trust him to delivery and plan our day smoothly. All our guests have said how perfect and smooth the day was, from the checking into the rooms as most of our guests were staying in the hotel. Rooms were ready early for people to get change before the ceremony in the chapel at 2pm. My husbandâs mother was booked into one of the new accessible room which are very nice and spacious and close to the Chapel. The music in the ceremony was spot on. Even though I left my usb with songs at home. Brenton quickly downloaded the songs on his phone and saved the day. The flowers and the decorations in the ballroom was amazing and the room was layout just as we wanted it. Some of our guests were fussy eaters but all the courses were 5 star quality and the presentation of the canapĂŠs and variety in the buffet. The food was definitely a highlight. I must mention that all the bar staff on the day worked really well and service was with a smile and keeping the bar stock. Thank you bestwood lodge for making our wedding special and i am sure some of our friends will be using your venue again. We have already booked to stay again in the accessible room for our anniversary. I also would like to mention Housekeeping team thank you for waiting around and sort our room out the first night and for all our weird requests x
