The Blackpool Resort & Spa

The hotel & room facilities are modern and in good working condition. The food variety and preparation is good. The hotel staff are very courteous and attentive to our needs. All in all we are very satisfied and would recommend The Blackpool Hotel to our family & friends.

The service from the restaurant and the bar as well as everyone at the front desk were very hospitable. It’s very close to Gregory lake and the race course. Both breakfast and dinner were really nice. They were very accommodative of the infants and kids we were travelling with

The stay at Blackpool has been nothing but a delightful experience. The staffs are very friendly. You would come as a guest but leave as a friend. Thank you Blackpool, and a special thanks to Thusanth, the manager and Chandrakumar, the manager for the wonderful service.

The welcomed was very nice. All the staff was nice. They treated us friendly & nice. I came with my family. We enjoyed a lot. The food and the service excellent. The front dest staff was very helpful and friendly with us. We will visit again. Nice hotel. Nice location

My original review was 5 stars, I have now reduced my rating due to the following treatment by management. On checkout we had to wait whilst our room was checked. No problems for us with that. We were then asked if we had the body lotion, approx 20-30ml little bottle from the bathroom guest toiletries. We were asked to return it, which embarrassed us greatly in the front foyer of the hotel. They made us feel like thieves. Every single hotel we have stayed in throughout many countries, the guest mini toiletries are complimentry for guests to use and take. If there had been a sign in the bathroom regarding leaving excess toiletries, we may have found it unusual and different from every other hotel, but it wouldn't have been a problem. I suggest management do this re signage, to avoid embarrassment of future guests. Keep in mind this is supposed to be an upmarket hotel, not a budget hotel. We spent a lot of money with them. So our issue is not with the general hotel or staff, but the management. What could have been a fantastic memory of this hotel has been soured. Please see below my initial review, as I stand by my assessment of the general staff and Spa; Beautiful hotel, with heritage feel. Comfortable and clean rooms, comfy bed. All general staff members, from front desk, restaurant, bar etc.. very friendly and helpful. And, Praveen, Vimukthi and Chamidu looked after us well. The Blackpool Hotel Laama Spa (managed by Sam and Sia) was wonderful! Ethan and Sia gave us a very relaxing and reviving Javanese style massage, which was perfect after doing the Worlds End walk . Really worth having one of their spa/massage treatments whilst you are staying here. Reasonably priced for a quality and professional treatment. The chefs provided delicious food, from set menus through to buffet.

Really good service and courteous staff. Really happy with the overall experience. Variety of food, cleanliness and everything is on point. Looking forward to visiting this place again. Mr Chandra Kumar is really helpful and addresses concerns

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights in this hotel. The staff and food were generally quite good, and we had a relaxing massage in the Laama spa after a hard trek in the Horton park World's End. However, the bathroom condiments are not complimentary, you can use the contents of the bottle of body lotion but you cannot take the bottle (as you can in every other hotel we've stayed in ), which would have been nice to know from the start. On checking out we had to wait for a room check and were told that a body lotion bottle (50ml) was missing and we were told there would be a charge for it. We were forced to search through our luggage and return the bottle of body lotion in the lobby. Don't stay here they are ignorant cheapskates.

It was a good experience in this hotel, the team was VERY pleasant, and very attentive Very good coffee ( rare in sri lanka), confortable beds, it was a little cold in the hotel too, knowledges missing for the personnal to make cocktails, will comme back ;)
