Chambre agréable, propre, literie confortable, vue sur la forêt. Beaucoup d’espaces disponibles pour observer les animaux qui viennent au point d’eau du lodge. Repas diversifié et généreux sous forme de buffet, personnel très sympathique. Fonctionnement original avec une sonnerie qui retentit la nuit dans les chambres quand les animaux sont visibles. Possibilité de désactiver la sonnerie.

My wife and I spent a night at The Ark Lodge in Aberdare National Park, and it was an extraordinary experience. The highlight was definitely being able to watch wildlife, especially elephants, come up close to drink water, offering us a front-row seat to a natural spectacle. The accommodations at the lodge were cozy and welcoming. The food was delightful, but it was the tranquil moments spent at the lodge's bar, taking in the stunning views of the surrounding nature, that truly made a memorable impact on us.

A wonderful and unique experience. The rooms are small but the hospitality is excellent. We were able to see so many beautiful animals. Food was absolutely delicious and Stephen is very knowledgeable about the Ark and the surrounding areas.

lace Why go on a game drive when the animals come to you. The 4 levels of balcony (check out the bunker) all facing the man-made watering hole, which attracts close-up elephants, water buffalos, hyenas, and warthogs You can also see their bird feeding time and perhaps a genet and mongoose or two. Night time your room has a buzzer which you can turn on or off to be notified of any animals approaching. We got to see the animals clearly in the afternoon but heard no ringing in the night. A few eager people in our group decided to stay up all night in anticipation for front row seats. One side of the rooms faces the trees while the other (better) side you may see the animals come in. The rooms here are smaller and more rustic.

If we could give 3.5 we would. Stayed our first night on safari and experience may have been affected through being so tired . However the room was very , and I mean very , small in comparison to subsequent experiences. The shower leaked all over the floor and the only power socket was behind the bed and very inaccessible. No air con or fan , and lots of noise from other rooms. The main building is on 4 levels and we were lucky enough to see an elephant on arrival and a genet wild cat later at night. Also lots of birds, bucks and buffalo but nothing really exotic. The buzzer did not go off in the night (luck of the draw). Bar was nice and prices reasonable, food was ok both at dinner and breakfast and service ( as was the service throughout Kenya). Would suggest one night is definitely enough.

Un lodge situé au cœur des Aberdares à 2286 mètres d’altitude. L’endroit est atypique avec des petites chambres un peu rustique mais suffisantes pour une nuit. Le point d’eau est le repère de nombreux animaux et la structure permet une belle observation sur plusieurs niveaux, soit en plein air soit depuis une zone vitrée. L’endroit est apaisant et calme et surtout particulièrement dépaysant. La nourriture est de bonne qualité et très variée. La petite bouillotte du soir est la bienvenue car les nuits sont fraîches. Un système de sonnettes (actionable ou non) permet d’être avertis des animaux présents autour du trou d’eau. Le personnel est attentionné et agréable. Une belle étape très dépaysante et idéale pour se ressourcer.

A 2200m d'altitude, la situation de ce lodge est remarquable ! Le point d'eau qui attire éléphants, buffles, oiseaux est un spectacle permanent. Les chambres sont propres et confortables. On nous avait même glissé une bouillote dans notre lit car les nuits sont fraiches. La restauration est de grande qualité et propose énormément de choix, salades, viandes, poissons, fruits frais, desserts, pâtisseries. C'est une étape d'une nuit qui vaut le détour. Le personnel est attentif et agréable.

Checked in on the 23rd December 2023. The lodge is beautiful and located in the Aberdare's National Park. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The meals are delicious with a wide spread of both Vegetarian and Non vegetarian cusine. All the staffs are welcoming and friendly.
