In addition to the basic comforts expected from any decent hotel, the staff went above and beyond to accommodate my rather irregular stay. I was a guest at double tree oak ridge from February 23rd til March 4th. Initially I booked online through a third party believing it to be the cheapest rate and the only way to extend was by repeating the process online. During my time here 3 key staff members stood out. Amber was one of the first that I met who exemplified exactly what one would seek from a front desk receptionist. She was kind, helpful and relatable as my partner and I had our 3 month old daughter with us. I could tell that there was an intentional effort to connect with us and identify our needs as she intimately understood the challenges with being a new parent having noted that she is a mother herself with little ones. From the first day until the last she was superb and I hope this review highlights her professionalism and good nature. Carmen was the second impactful staff member that I met with. My issue with booking online for the best rate was complicated due to me accidently booking a day that I was already checked in thus creating duplicate bookings. The third party system I booked through wasn't the least bit accommodating to the very obvious oversight that I had committed. Carmen diligently went through her chain of command to resolve the issue as efficiently as possible with minimum inconvenience to me. She then informed me that it is always best to book directly with the hotel especially considering that I'm military to which rates typically are more favorable. This additional stretch beyond the basic needs of the guest was something I had not experienced before in the times I have stayed in hotels. It was refreshing! And last but not least Shania on the night shift was someone who stood out due to her willingness to help and ensure any issues I had were quickly resolved. One day I requested a full refresh in the room and due to house keeping being relatively new and key personnel not being at work that day, somehow I was overlooked. I was frustrated when I spoke with Shania regarding the mishap because I was positive that Amber had submitted my request promptly. By the time I left from speaking with Shania I found myself filled with laughter and completely at ease over the minor oversight. Being able to de-escalate a disgruntled guest is a rather import skill in this industry and I wanted to take the time to acknowledge her for her efforts. I'm not sure how exactly my detailed review will affect them but if anyone important sees this, the team busted their rears to accommodate my rather unorthodox needs and I hope some bonus or public recognition could be offered to them for their hard work 10/10 experience I will definitely be back!
