Grand Fiesta Americana Oaxaca

First of all, I liked the hotel's architecture and rooms. However, the service is not worth the price at all!! It's ridiculous that a hotel with such a luxurious appearance doesn't have toiletries in the bathroom... No cotton swabs, no cotton balls, no shoe horns... The breakfast is extremely poor, with each item placed as if it were a hassle... No one speaks English. You can't even order eggs; let's say they understood by chance, but you'll only get them after your breakfast is finished… When you express your dissatisfaction, you get a response like “okay.” In short, we won't be choosing this hotel again!

I came here for a birthday trip with friends. One of my friends is newly pregnant and we all had some tea from the lobby. It turns out the tea they put out in the lobby is an herbal tea used for abortion purposes, but declined to notify anyone what kind of tea it was. My friend experienced severe cramping and stayed in during the day. We reported our concerns to the hotel and they declined to do anything about it except offer to call a doctor. It was shocking. They also threw away our ear plugs in our room and then didn’t have enough ear plugs to replace them. Overall I would not recommend.

Been here twice, once every year since 2023. Going back again in March 2026. The location is ideal, walking distances to the city center, service is 5 star. Most staff speak English, and the food is delicious!! The only critique I have is to revamp the pool, its dark, and the ambiance needs a fresher look. The hot tub /spa needs to work also.

room was always clean, maid service was excellent and very attentive to our needs. Air conditioning was adequate, some difficulty in adjusting temperature. Showerhead had a leak on the side and squirted water towards the wall. In room 242.

This is a really beautiful newer hotel in Oaxaca. It’s away from noise but easily walkable to the city center. The rooms were quiet and had an amazing shower. Beds were super comfortable. Staff was very nice and accommodating. Food was good, but there are better options. The only thing I wish they had was a male therapist at the spa But a really great hotel.
