I had a paid room through Priceline. I arrived at 2 a.m. and the front desk computer was down. The clerk was apologetic but could not identify which rooms were occupied or vacant, so I could not get my room! She actually woke up people in 2 rooms to see if they were occupied! After 40 minutes the computer resumed working and she found a room for me. (By the way, I asked her to call whoever could fix the computer and she said she would not because they were sleeping. I guess managers need their sleep more than customers.) Then there were literally NO parking places. Big semi cabs and tow trucks and other oversized vehicles occupied most parking stalls behind the motel, and the few stalls in front were occupied by cars. Finally I had to park in a handicap spot. Due to these delays, I did not walk into my room until 3 a.m., very tired after a long road trip. I lost almost a full hour at check-in due to their faulty computer (and trying to find parking). This is unforgiveable for a big chain motel. I walked into a stifling hot and humid room. The wall thermostat said it was 79 degrees. I turned the thermostat to 72 and the loud clanking compressor in the AC unit kicked on, but it cycled on and off constantly all night long, and it took until the next morning to get the room down to 72. (It was in the 50s outside, but so hot inside the room.) The mattress on the bed had deep indentations from too many bodies before me. There was a deep hollow in the mattress. This is unforgiveable. And the pillows were tiny postage stamp size and not very comfortable. This was a really bad experience: 1. No functioning front desk computer so no room (for 40 minutes). 2. No parking spaces except handicapped (another 20 minutes lost). 3. Very uncomfortable mattress, long past its expiration date. I definitely will not be back.
