We've just returned from a very pleasant stay at hotel Falesia. Arriving at 10 am we took advantage of early check in @€20 and breakfast @€10 each. Our junior suite on the third floor was spacious with a lovely view over the adjacent Pine Cliffs resort and a distant glimpse of the sea from the balcony. Storage is plentiful, the bathroom with rainfall shower convenient and enormous bed very comfortable. Robes, slippers, water, tea and coffee are supplied and there's a small fridge. Maid service is daily and towels changed on request. Our only criticism is noise from adjoining and upper floor rooms (why on earth people drag furniture across the floor at midnight we'll never know). Food at both breakfast and dinner is exceptional. There's a vast choice of freshly prepared and frequently replenished dishes, you'd need to be extremely difficult to please if you couldn't find at least two of these items to eat, we found it hard to limit ourselves there were so many tempting things on offer. The communal rooms and reception appear to have recently been refurbished and have a fresh, current feel to them . The indoor pool and spa area will hopefully be included in the refurb soon. One shower in the ladies was out of order the entire time we were there, closed off with scruffy looking tape and part of the ceiling above the pool had been burned leaving a hole with bits hanging down. The area was clean overall and frequently checked. Outside the hotel is very relaxing, the pool has plenty of loungers, the gardens are immaculate and there's a waterfall and stream complete with frogs chorus and very lively carp. We've entitled this review 'over promises' because we feel we were given the impression that nothing is too much trouble, however you need to ask for any information at all. There's nothing about the surrounding area, nothing to tell you breakfast and dinner times or directions to the beach, people don't always want to.ask. The lift broke down on Wednesday afternoon it wasn't until Saturday evening when we asked if someone could help with our suitcases the following morning that a surprised member of reception staff wondered why we hadn't been using the service lift(we didn't know there was one). It would have made more sense to us to have signs to both the stairways and service lifts as soon as the main lift was out of order rather than leave it to guests to find their way. In short be proactive, not reactive. There are a couple of cafes and restaurants nearby and a short walk as you turn right out of the hotel leads you to a beautiful tree lined village square where you can sip a coffee in the shade before walking to the beach. Overall a relaxing holiday with plentiful good food and comfortable rooms made possible by the hard working restaurant, kitchen and housekeeping staff.
