The only good thing about this place was the staff on shift when we checked in. Very friendly and helpful, the rest of the experience was bad! Although the hotel claims to be smoke free the entire place reeks of stale cigarettes and ****. My key card wouldn't work in my door even though the light would turn green, the guy at the front desk told me to try lifting the door handle up, he said they have to fix them at times and the orientation is backwards. When we got into the room there were stains on the blankets, there were no towels or soap/shampoo in the bathroom, I went to the front desk to let them know we had no towels, soap or shampoo. The girl at the front handed me 3 towels, 3 soaps, and 2 shampoos, we are a family of four, so that was not ideal. The tv was a mess and I had to have the hotel staff come look at it as it was on some strange input, and I didn't know I needed to point the remote at the cable box dangling from the back of the tv/wall near the floor. At my children's pleading (7 & 5) we went to swim in the pool. I went the front desk to ask for some more towels since we were only given 3 upon checking in and the lady at the front told me they were out of towels. There were other kids in the pool swimming, and who I assume were the parents were just sitting in the lobby not paying any attention to their kids in the pool, one of the little girls told my daughter they weren't even staying at this hotel. We swam for only a little bit as the kids in the pool were doing and saying things, we did not want our kids to be around. We should have left but at that point we decided to turn in early to get an early start at the Zoo in the morning, it sounded like the people above us were running sprints back and forth and made getting to sleep very difficult, I did ask the staff if they could say something, it seemed to help slightly. In the morning I went to get my kids breakfast and the cereal in the containers looked very suspect, the juice machine was out of order and there were a few pieces of stale bread, we decided to skip the so-called breakfast that was offered. It doesn't matter that the Zoo is a stone's throw from this hotel, it's not worth it to stay here, don't waste your money, go literally anywhere else!
