The attached picture is wrong and it is not our hotel. Online reviews are basically objective and a bit old, but there are many rooms. Easy to refuel.

We liked the spacious room and bathroom . Bed was fine . It was warm while we were there and with the window open a noisy motorcycle disturbed my sleep . Other traffic noise was OK

The lady in reception might have had a long day, she was a bit grumpy, other than that a more than adequate over night stay, parking was really great, right outside the room. We would stay again

It's good for a stopover on route but not much around - other than the clay cliffs. It did have a pub and supermarket which was handy

There was no warm water when showering in the evening.
The staff wasn't friendly
They didn't even tell me how to use the wifi.
The facilities are old

A very good stop for one night - visit the Claye Cliffs - a super good restaurant next to the hotel. A launderette open 24/7

Just look at the photos as they say it all, both doors not secure by any means, stains on all surfaces; could have taken dozens more photos as issues so widespread but we could not wait to leave. This poor quality has not just happened and we saw nothing anywhere near this in our latest 5 weeks of travelling New Zealand. Our worse hotel experience in over 40 years of travelling and cost over $200 a night!!! Just looking at other rooms as doors left open it would appear they are all of a very poor standard.
