This place definitely has its pro’s and con’s and it depends what sacrifices you are willing to make for price. Looking at other reviews I thought I wouldn’t mind it as I’m not too fussy usually but overall I felt uncomfortable and didn’t really want to stay any longer than I had to: Pro’s -Good cheap price -Whilst further out, it’s super convenient for public transport right outside the hotel only 2 euro to get into Milan only takes 30 mins tops -The man on reception was lovely and very helpful -Rooms are big and whilst very dated and nothing to shout home about if you’re used to budget travelling they aren’t filthy or falling apart -Nice big shower room -Fast, free Wi-Fi and slippers and towels Cons -We felt the area at times was slightly scary (although we did first arrive at night) some concerning characters/gangs in surrounding areas and appeared to be in the hotel as well. It’s a pretty rundown area and we didn’t feel very comfortable there -The walls - I’ve never known anything quite like it to be honest it was so so loud I could hear absolutely everything the entire time. Babies crying, doors shutting, people talking/shouting, playing music, stomps up the hallway - constantly and late into the night waking us up. This all added to the sense of un-ease as it didn’t seem like you were on your own and I couldn’t relax in the room and just wanted to leave. -We were also in an outhouse which wouldn’t usually be a problem but felt so exposed as it was that it just added to the feeling Despite all the positives we couldn’t look past these negatives and I really wouldn’t recommend regardless of price.

I stayed there before my flight. Rooms were clean and all staff friendly. Price was very good. I would book it again at any time. Breakfast was included in the price and coffee was good.

Good location, friendly staff and a good breakfast. I booked a room with a double bed and ac. Only to arrive and find the double bed is 2 singles beds pushed together. This isn't a double bed just because you put a double sheet on. They turn off the AC in winter, so you can't use it. Absolutely bizarre. They did however change me to a king single room and supply me with a fan. They also advertised they have a sauna with no mention of an extra charge. €30 per hour they charge. If you are going to advertise something then you need to provide it or state ”no AC during winter, our double bed is two singles pushed together, the sauna is €30 an hour”. This hotel needs to do better with the description!!

A very friendly and very professional staff Director waiting and very available I felt special and I didn't miss anything so I would say you went and you will surely be very happy with excellent and complete breakfast of all kinds of food from Fruit of eggs and also with a great household salad to be cut on the cut. Exceptional cookies made in the house

The hotel is located in the centre of the city, and the hotel is located in the centre of the city. The hotel is very comfortable and the staff are very friendly and the hotel is large with sofa fully furnished to put up with a glass. I stayed with my wife and son 16 years old I liked management, attention to customer expectations We arrive at the reception and there is Jean, a nice and professional, who explains everything to us Minibar in room included in price (never seen before) Free Wi-Fi in all rooms Functional, clean and modern room (peccate there were 3 single beds and not one single and one double, but perhaps it's because I didn't ask it in the booking and in hotels they are not visionary) Ciabutes, various bath products, great modern shower Breakfast with a very varied buffet included Covered parking included (in winter you can't find glasses brinked in the morning) Nice lake in front of the hotel Location a little distant, if you don't have the machine is a little isolated, but you see it in booking so you know it before booking Absolutely recommended

Hotel location in the suburbs of Milan, very quiet around, 7 minutes walk from S1 train station, 3 minutes walk from community warehouse supermarket, very close to residential area, many restaurants around, hotel room comfortable suitable for business trip

We arrived in Bergamo airport via Ryan air and quickly bought tickets for the bus transfer into Milan Centrale station for 12 euros each. It being a Friday evening the traffic was fairly heavy and instead of the transfer taking 50 minutes it took and hour and 5 minutes but that was understanable on a Friday evening especially as the area had just had a heavy rain storm. We arrived in Milan Centrale and if we had taken a correct turn we would have arrived at the Grand Doria Hotel after a six minute walk. Sadly we turned the wrong way (mainly in part to a review on this site that told us to walk right at the Star Hotel. You dont. There is a Star Hotel on either side of the road. Walk between them and it's left from the station car park). Once we arrived (45 minutes after getting off the bus) we were presented with a beautiful hotel. It's been around since the turn of the 20th century and has kept that look whilst being descretely updated for the 21st century. We checked in quickly and was told that the resturant was closing in ten minutes so instead we bought some supplies from the Carrfour Extra supermarket which is located across the road and to the left. The hotel room itself was lovely. A massive bed, plenty of wardrobe space, a lovely bathroom with a toilet, shower, bath and bidea and all decked out in marble. The room had a good size television mounted to the wall opposite the bed (around 42 inch tv is my guess) and was in high definition. The breakfast, which was included, was excellent. Cereal, cheeses, figs, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage (hot dog, european, style) juices, fresh coffee and tea, croissants, and plenty of other pastries. The choice was huge. We spent the day in Milan and then in the evning looked for somewhere to eat. Around the hotel choices were limited and closer to the centre Milan was heaving with people so we chose to eat in one of the two resturants the hotel had to offer. We ate in the Cafe Doria. My Wife had a delicious pasta dish and I had the veal escolope with a citrus sald and we shared a green salad. We alos had a large bottle of water between us and I had a very nice glass of red wine suggested by the maitre de. The total for this was 55 euro and was very reasonable. The maitre de even chased after us after we left to make sure we took the rest of the bottle of water with us. He was a lovely man. I highly recommend this hotel. It's location is good. Far enough away from the centre of Milan that you don't have to suffer with the noice of the city and close enough that it's a three minute walk to the nearest Metro station (2 euros for 90 mins of unlimited travel) and a 6 minute walk to the main station. It's beautifully kept, the staff are very friendly and it's well worth it's four stars. Normally they charge 285 euros per night but we managed to get the room for two nights for 250 euros. A bargain and well worth it. Highly recommended.

The hotel was average, wouldn’t say it’s a 4 star hotel however. More like a 3 star hotel. It had everything you needed but nothing special or luxurious. The bed was comfortable and bathroom was clean, however the wood flooring in our room had black marks where furniture had scraped it badly. The curtains had been ripped and the heating in our room didn’t work properly, only the air con worked. The hotel is a bit far out from Milan’s tourist attractions so would be better to stay closer to Milan central where you have everything at walking distance. Although, the staff were lovely and welcoming.

I booked and paid for standard bed however once I was there I was informed they are full to capacity and only twins beds were available. My trip was for 5 nights and the they would only be able to offer me a standard bed the last night of my stay. I was also told that I'm staying longer than the normal as their minimum patrons stays between 2-3 nights and my stay is longer. The food is also not desirable. I was disappointed by that being in Italy and not having a capable chef. The person working was overwhelm as the was the only one and there were many people to attend to. The location was not ideal as it was right next to an abandon building and walking to get the bus was dark and creepy. Because it was my first time in Milan I was expecting more but next time I'll choose another hotel closer to the town.
