Nice hotel, but outdated and the carpet does not look fresh! Lots of dirty and chlorine stains. The hotel could use a renovation, especially the bathrooms.

Because this was the only catering establishment in the nearby area that was open, I went here 3 times; Once just for a beer, once for lunch and once for dinner. We searched for “Grand Café 1834” but couldn't find it at first. Wasn't indicated anywhere either. However, the café is located and part of the hotel. A bit confusing. The service is (as they promise) top. Pleasant and friendly waiters and waitresses. You receive your order very quickly and always with a chat and some humor. Cozy large terrace and ditto restaurant. Food, the asparagus and the chicken thighs, were very tasty. Less than 10 minutes by bike from Heerenveen. Cycling routes usually start from here.

The staff at this hotel are the most polite and friendly staff I've ever met at a hotel. Makes a whole big difference to the overall stay experience. Restaurant is amazing, location is beautiful in the middle of really nice walking routes, rooms are spotless clean. There is nothing I can fault this hotel on .... a pure gem !

After many years, I spent a few nights in Tjaarda, Oranjewoud. Completely transformed in 2023 and that is something to be seen. The entire hotel has a contemporary and personal appearance. Our room was spacious, seating area, large table for reading and working. Good lighting. Bathroom with large shower area and rain and hand shower. Bathroom accessories from Scapa. Excellent beds. Safe, possibility to make tea and coffee (Nespresso), minibar. If there is any criticism to be made: the walk-in mat needs to be replaced. The hotel has a Grand Café with original menu items and an excellent Marijke Muoi Restaurant serving refined and tasty dishes. Not cheap, but very well maintained. The vegetable menu is especially special.

Beautiful hotel with a lovely swimming pool. Good ambiance. Restaurant beautiful dishes but real mistakes in the preparation. Leek on the steak tartare is undercooked so you spend a long time grazing on it. Not pleasant and a real waste of a potentially beautiful dish. The potato with the main course was again undercooked and therefore unconsumable. Sauces really classic but too sweet (obviously a matter of taste). Dessert with duumkes, too many 'jellies', too much gelatin. Management very service oriented.

Diamond in the rough . Beautiful location great rooms . Excellent Dining Spend three days Health Centre is a must . Beautiful walking trails Personel a 10 plus. Only disappointment breakfast very confusing layout. Juice from card board container. Saw sausage pan with same sausages two days in row First meal of the day should like appetizing and inviting this one certainly did not. Mij rating a 4 for trying Rest of mij experience made however up for it
