The River Valley Inn in Osceola is super clean, nice size room, nice size bathroom, comfy bed, friendly staff. There's a cool bar/restaurant right next door. And the rates are quite reasonable. The next time I'm in the area that's where I'm going to stay. Highly recommend staying here

Be sure to read all reviews for this property before staying here! The owner/Manager was difficult to work with. He applied an upgrade charge for something we never asked for and there were many strange "policies" that they enforced there. The strangest one to us was that they limited the pool use to one family at a time for one hour each day. The door to the pool was kept locked and had to ask the manager to be let in. The jets on the whirlpool were not and had not been working for some time. We were told that the two of us(my adult daughter and myself), could not share a room with one bed. It is against their "policy" for the two of us to both sleep in the same bed. When I asked if that policy would apply if I was there with my husband, he said no, it would be fine for my husband and I to share one bed! He made our stay there very uncomfortable. When he was questioned by the Bureau of Consumer Protection Dept. he alleged that everything I was saying was a lie and never happened.

Somehow the lock on my room door malfunctioned in the middle of my stay. Staff was very helpful and friendly to let me in my room at the end of each day.

In August I was bicycling across Wisconsin and stayed here for a night. The room and breakfast buffet were good. The "not so good" was being charged $15 to store my bike in a secure garage. The inn's policy (which they told me earlier) was to not allow bicycles in rooms. As noted in another review below, this policy is unusual. I hope the owner will reconsider or offer another option.
