Holiday Inn Express & Suites OSWEGO by IHG

We had a horrible experience sleeping here because our room, Room 111, was across from a stairwell door and right next to an outside door. The doors screech open and slam shut - just bad design combined with little thought given to adding a ‘closer’ to the doors or doing something to address the noise. The doors were SLAMMING open and closed ALL NIGHT LONG, and I’m not exaggerating. To be fair, this review probably only applies through June 2026-ish. Apparently 75% of the rooms here are let to a construction company through then, and I’m assuming that there are many more comings and goings of people throughout the night than would normally be expected as a result. Also I’m assuming that the contact high one could get just walking down the halls in the evening is a temporary feature. On the positive side, the room was clean and well appointed, the beds were comfortable and front desk was friendly. I can’t tell you about the free breakfast because I’m getting out of here ASAP.

Check in was good, the room was clean and comfortable. The location is away from the city center, but not too far. They have the good coffee machines, which is always a plus. They had something on the breakfast bar that I had never seen, empanadas, which were pretty good.

This hotel was just OK. It is a rather small Holiday Inn. The check in and check out experience was good. The complimentary breakfast was fair at best. Coffee was good. Floors in the room were not clean.... carpet was stained and dust was gathered around the base of the bed. Bathroom was clean. Just glad we only had a reservation for one night.

Room was ok. Sone towels needed to be recycled. Front desk personnel were friendly enough. Breakfast was sub par. Entries were cold. Disappointed

Love this hotel & chain. Comfortable beds, decent breakfast, good shower heads. My only complaints is the cable situation. Too basic, need Cartoon Network. 🤘

The room was spotless. Staff was kind. Even clear the parking lot after.a snowstorm.

I stayed at this hotel Monday 11/10. It's OK. Relatively new, clean as you expect for a Holiday Inn in Oswego... 2 things were annoying. I had a confirmed reservation for a room with 2 Queens, and got there and all they had was a King. I was traveling with my child to visit the college... The front desk clerk got kind of snippy with me about it. Second, the WiFi didn't work in the hotel Monday night. It came back Tuesday AM, but how does a hotel not have WiFi??? I guess it's about what you'd expect in Oswego... I tried to reach out to IHG about this, but they've automated everything on their web site with chatbots. The implementation was poor, which is i guess what you'd expect from the parent company of a holiday inn... Since I couldn't tell IHG about this expereience, I'm left with no recourse but to vent about it on a travel site. So IHG will potentially lose business at this lovation due to a poor review bc they're too cheap to hire someone to properly develop and implement a chatbot, and too cheap to staff a call center. This easily could have been resolved by a person, but here's my review when I couldn't get int ouch with one...

I had pros and cons, but I liked that they are renovated and carpets are clean. Room was spacious for the level of the hotel. Conveniently located in shopping area. that is pros. We enjoyed using pool and gym facility. Breakfast was decent. It was thanksgiving week, and there was no cleaning service on Thanksgiving day, which is understandable. Hotel worker gave us free snack coupon, that was nice, and she was friendly. We stayed 4 nights, and the first full day was Thanksgiving, and the second day, we spent most of the day in the room, so we didn't have any cleaning service. on the third day which is the last full day, we needed the cleaning so bad. When we were getting ready to go out, cleaning lady came and I told her that we are leaving in 10 minutes, so please come back later. She said, " I will swing back." so I was happy. But when we came back from outing, I saw she didn't do anything with our room. That was disappointing. So, we didn't get any cleaning during our 4-night stay. My room was on the 4th floor and Internet connectivity was a problem. I tried with my cell phone and computer, but both of them took long time to get to the login page. If you have this problem, connect your phone or computer on the first floor first. It may help the connectivity. I kept hearing the sound like water going through the pipe. That bothered me. My husband said that is soothing to him, but it wasn't to me. Check out was easy. That was good.

Overnight stay for hockey games. Parking was easy and plentiful. Room was clean and breakfast choices were great!
