Cartier Place Suite Hotel

Spacious, pleasant rooms in a great location. The staff were very welcoming, warm, and attentive... even opening the pool for us at 8 AM on a Sunday morning!

Ottawa is very small, and the hotel is very conveniently located in the core area, about 20 minutes walk to the subway station. I saw everyone's comments about the old facilities, and I thought it was not a problem. When I checked in, first of all, the swimming pool could not be used, the indoor one, and they did not say why it was under maintenance. Second, the deposit pre-authorization required $200. When I entered the room, the air conditioner made a rumbling sound. I quickly called the front desk to have a look. The guy said that there was nothing he could do about it, maybe it was broken, and then whispered to me that I could ask the front desk if I could change a room. It was a dream. I called the front desk, and the front desk said to go upstairs to the same room type and wait for someone to deliver the key to change the room. Well, I waited for 15 minutes and no one came, so I used the floor phone to call the front desk, and the front desk said to wait a little longer and they would urge it, and then I waited for another 15 minutes without any response. Well, I went downstairs to ask the front desk, and the person at the front desk rolled her eyes and said that she did not receive the call, did not say to change the room, and said that the air conditioner was normal! It was clearly her who answered the phone. How could the hotel phone be connected to somewhere else? There was no need to change the number and waste the customer's time... This service attitude is a bit too greasy!

Pros: The hotel is in a great location in the city center, and the sofa in the suite can be used as a bed. Cons: The air conditioner is old and seriously affects sleep, the internet speed is very slow, the parking fee is expensive, and there is no breakfast.
