離oundle學校最近的酒店，環境很好，飯也很好吃～吃了三頓都很滿意，就是一點，隔音不好，住一樓，很早就被樓上的腳步聲吵醒了

We stayed at The Talbot Hotel as we had a wedding in the town. It is an amazing historic hotel. The staff were very friendly and it was very clean.

My wife and I had a one night stay in a “classic doubleroom” (room 305), which was spacious with an equally spacious en-suite walk in shower. Old style/repro furniture added to the character. Double bed was very comfy. We had lunch in the bar area, evening mezze snack on the patio and breakfast the following morning in the restaurant area. All very pleasant surroundings We hope to spend more time at The Talbot at some point.

We slept on a firm, big, mattress which was absolutely divine. I could have stayed in bed for several more hours. Beautiful property, excellent staff. The only thing I would say is that more decaff coffee and tea should have been provided. On asking for more, one of the staff delivered lots of decaff tea and coffee bags to our room. Which was great. But they couldn't find the decaff coffee pods. I really wanted to use that wonderful coffee maker. Other than that, all was perfect.

After a long journey in atrocious weather (torrential rain) we needed warming up, the heating in our room, (103) was not working. We phoned reception but did not get a response, the heating however came on within 15 minutes or so. The next day, on returning from a day out, we had a lovely meal in the restaurant and returned to our room to have a shower before settling down for the evening. It was however a rather chilly night and the heating was again not working. I tried to contact reception but got no reply, I went down to reception to report the problem, but reception was not manned. I then looked for someone to help, I went to the bar, but there was nobody there. In desperation I returned to the restaurant to report the problem only to be told that it was my responsibility to request the heating to be put on in my room!!!

We often stay at the Talbot, a beautiful historic pub: it has become a home from home in lovely Oundle. The reason for not giving full marks to the quality of sleep is that we find some rooms a little noisy, but admittedly we are light sleepers! Breakfast is excellent, Sunday dinner is rather time restricted. The staff are helpful and hardworking with a smile. Room prices vary according to how busy the place is on the dates of your stay. Parking is easy.
