A very unique place to stay that didn’t feel like a hotel! Had a great breakfast that was freshly prepared and cooked for us in the morning! Would highly recommend!

It was nice. Not what i had expected, but have never stayed in a b&b before.. if you need a room with no stairs, this isn't the place. You cannot park in front of the building over night and the bacck entrance requires walking up stairs. Internet was iffy and no tv in bedroom. But if you are coming to Ouray to escape your normal routine, as we were, those really did not matter. Can't comment on breakfast, as we woke up too late for it. All in all, enjoyed our stay.

If you are planning in to stay in Ouray, this is one of the best hotels. Its so cool, clean and safe, and the stuff is so friendly. Its quiet as well. The breakfast its pretty good too. I do recommend this hotel for sure.

My wife and I spent a week ice climbing in Ouray and stayed the entire time at St Elmo. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was excellent, something my wife nor I usually don't partake of, but eggs cooked to order was a good plus prior to heading out into single digit temps. There was an excellent selection for breakfast including locally baked bread and coffee cake. The room decor is dated but has character and is in keeping with the historic nature of the hotel. There wasn't a TV in the room but we didn't come to the mountains to sit in a hotel room and watch TV. We used our iPad the few times we wanted to catch up on some news etc. There was no smell nor did it smell like a funeral home....the only smell I remember was smelling breakfast coming up from the dining room that was directly below our room.... staff was super accommodating and went out of their way to assist.
