The Netherwood Hotel & Spa

There is no air cooler in the room and my room got changed without my concern. I don’t recommend anyone doing online booking and don’t take rockside rooms. It smells bad and not worth the money and, there is no such sea view you would get from the hotel.

Beautiful building! Our room was in the main building which was fine but we had views of the bins so we paid for an upgrade which was in the other building and not the main house. So, although the view was nice over looking the water the furniture and fittings in this room were mediocre and a bit knocked about, bathroom had mouldy grout, not sure that I would call it an upgrade.

The starting point for a charity Coast to Coast bicycle event. We enjoyed a relaxing night and good breakfast before setting off on this wonderful ride. The staff at the hotel were helpful and friendly and our room was comfortable and spacious. Hotels of this size and age are so often faded spendour and the Netherwood has managed to avoid that decline internally and from a service perspective. The gardens have not survived quite so well but are still attractive.

We stayed two nights for family wedding and were very impressed with the Netherwood. The grounds are gorgeous and well kept, the rooms are large and clean and staff are friendly and efficient and made us feel welcome. The catering for the wedding was excellent and the food was delicious. We had dinner and breakfast too, both of which were very nice.

We've driven past the Netherwood hotel and spa but never gone in until today. It's set in a beautiful location in Grange over Sands, with a long driveway past terraced, manicured well.kept gardens. Inside it doesn't disappoint, with a lovely dining room and huge sitting room with a wooden fireplace. We had a spa and lunch/afternoon tea package, the spa was spotless and has a sauna, two steam rooms, two jacuzzis and a plunge pool; treatments are also available if needed. Lunch consisted of tomato and red pepper soup, a choice of sandwiches and salads. The staff in the dining room were really helpful and made everyone feel special - a most enjoyable experience. I've given the hotel five stars, if I could I'd give it ten stars, and won't hesitate to visit again. Excellent hotel that is highly recommended.

Lovely hotel in a beautiful setting - Really clean and room was immaculate. We ate in the hotel on the Saturday evening and it was pretty slow as they told us they were understaffed. Food was much too expensive for what was served - the food was ok but price was way above normal. We had a room at the back and a generator type machine kicked in around 6 each morning - impossible to sleep through it! A real pity because it was the only thing that took away from a lovely weekend. I would recommend you request a room at the front as you will want to avoid this.

Just had a great weekend at the Netherwood hotel from arriving to going home, the staff can not do enough for you. Also had a massage with Helen and wow it was amazing, when staying I highly recommend a trip to the spa. Also you are made welcome when going to have a drink by Dennis and Peter. And not forgetting Lindsay. See you in July can not wait to see you again and go to the spa again
