Grange Hotel

We spent four nights at this well located hotel which was full of character. The reception staff were particularly helpful and throughout our stay we were met with smiles from those that worked in the building to provide such good service for guests. It was great to find breakfast served in such a large room which made for a relaxed atmosphere and the food provided was very varied and of really good quality. It set one up for the day! The bar food in the evening was nicely cooked and served promptly. We had a really good stay and have no regrets at all about choosing to stay at the Grange. Positives all the way. It is a hotel to be recommended.

Our first visit to this really stylish hotel. A beautiful, clean and comfortable room, coupled with a really, really good breakfast. Room was very large, as was the four poster bed. Warm, so appreciated the fan. Friendly, very helpful staff. We will certainly come again.

The hotel has a good location, friendly staffs, although rooms were clean, they just need updating.

Lovely hotel, only things that would make it better would be air conditioning and frosted window in the bathroom (room 224) as anyone walking round the back could see straight in and the loo was next to the window and level with it. Breakfast was great.

We had a fantastic 2 days at this hotel. Started with the warmest welcome from reception. The room was huge with king size bed. Bathroom, bedroom and whole of hotel was immaculately clean. The staff are a credit to this hotel with nothing being too much trouble. Olga especially went out of her way to ensure we had everything we needed. The terrace was a fab place to sit in the evenings with a bottle of wine. 10/10 for friendliness and welcoming us. Pool and spa facilities again clean and easy to access. Evening meal was one of the best we had during our holiday Excellent value for money especially food. We will be returning for a longer break for sure.

Good: Nearly everything. Lovely hotel, very polite friendly helpful staff. Top notch breakfast, comfortable four poster bed and we were lucky enough to be upgraded to a superior room which was very large and could sit in arm chairs gazing out at the view of the bay and town. Coffee machine a nice touch. We didn't eat in the restaurant at night but had the 'steak night' special in the bar on our first night which was very nice albeit no vedge or salad accompaniment barring the generous portion of chips and some onion rings. We made up for that deficit by having plenty of fruit at breakfast the next morning! Not so good: There was a weird pipe banging noise every so often once late at night , once in the middle of the night and once early in the morning on both of our nights stay .Only for a few minutes and not long enough to be a real nuisance and the splendour of the room more than made up for this. The shower lever had to be turned about one and a quarter times around in order to be about the right temperature and took a little while to warm up. Fine once in the know but not great if you get in first and are then fiddling about trying to get it off freezing for a minute or so. Parking seems to be a potential issue. We got parked both nights no problem but it did feel as though we were taking the last available space. There is free parking for a few cars over the road from the entrance outside the station and around the corner you can park for free on the road in the evening until 9.00am in the morning. However there is a fairly long and fairly steep drive to walk up from there which I wouldn't have fancied doing whilst carrying luggage. Not sure if any guests had to resort to this. We had lovely weather but there seems a fair amount to see and do in the area.

Booked very last minute! Got a suite to myself,it was very nice ! All the staff I met were very friendly and helpful too . This was the second time I've stayed here and I would recommend to others . The only thing I would say is that it would be good if there was a fan available in the bedroom as it can get very warm , this is something I would expect from a 4 star hotel.

Tried to go for a meal - Steak night on a wednesday. One waiter at the bar knew nothing about it and the other told us we could sit where we wanted then promptly ignored us for 20 minutes so we walked out. No serving staff. The bar area was very quiet so no execuses.
