I thought it would be a little hotel but it turns out to be a beautiful building, with a nice bar, good breakfast and lovely grounds. My room was large and well equipped, with a good shower and comfy bed. Food was ok quality and breakfast was nice. Perfect location for the beach and to explore Cromer too. Staff very helpful when I left my book behind too. Recommended for local stays.

What a shame, such a historic building in a great location. Nice waiting staff let down by sub standard food, serving raw pasta and over cooked sausages.. To be fair I’m glad I didn’t go for the steak and the the meal was refunded, it could have been worse I suppose .. Come on guys so much potential , do it for Winston!!!

My family of four had an early dinner in the restaurant and each main meal was utterly disgusting. Dover sole was sloppy with cream dumped on top. It was tasteless, New potatoes were bitter and after a couple of forkfuls, a tinned prawn was found floating in the cream. I can not eat prawns. 10 minutes after serving it up, the waitress brought over a pot of cold broccoli Which she said should have been served earlier. My eldest daughter ordered sea bass that came with the same tasteless cream and cold mash potato. Brown potted prawn Sauce was missing. Confit of fennel on both meals was a block of stringy tasteless fennel. Both meals were inedible. My 12 year old daughter ordered wood fired Neapolitan pizza. An odd shaped slab of dough came out with tomatoes thrown on top. The basil and oil were non existent. It tasted watery. We told them there was no basis and oil and they brought a pot of pesto. I spoke to the head waitress about the standard of food and she listened and said nothing. We sat with the food in front of us. The 5 forkfuls of Dover sole was actually making me feel sick. My children ordered desert and the after eight desert came with a sickly sauce and burnt cubes of brownie. The whole meal was disgusting I cannot believe that the restaurant didn’t take the Dover sole and sea bass off the bill. £18 and £21. I wouldn’t have served this up at home and would have put it directly in the bin. Other people were complaining. What a horrible waste of money - avoid like the plague

Went for a meal for my partners birthday and was extremely disappointed with the quality of the food. My fillet steak had no flavor and i gad paid £32.00 for it to be fed to my dog. Then I ordered the rice pudding creme brulee which was so stodgy I couldn't put my spoon through it. The chef was told but said this is how it should be. We have eaten here on numerous occasions when staying in the area but I certainly wouldn't rush back. The chef needs to take criticism and for nearly a £300.00 evening I would expect better. Would not recommend at all.

Booked for 1.45, nice table in restaurant, drinks ordered and then waited 45 minutes to be told we could go and get our food, too long to wait to be honest. Lovely staff and lovely chef serving food, but absolutely no finesse with regards to the food, dry lamb no carrot and swede mash left, cold mash potatoes, random cut carrots, undercooked bacon and straggly cabbage, stodgy broccoli cheese, flaccid roast potatoes and by the time we got back to our table food was cold. The White Horse Sunday lunch far better, well presented and hot!

The Sea Marge is an absolutely divine hotel. From the minute you arrive to the time you leave, it is like being in heaven. Staff are amazing, nothing is too much trouble, and you are treated like royalty. Every visit just gets better and better. Cannot wait to go back and sit in the garden and admire the wonderful view.

Booked a meal 19:00hrs but for some reason , disappointingly didn’t get our usual Frazer’s restaurant. When we’d finished at around 20:15 we went to the bar to continue our night. However it was bleak and cold, wood burner was left to burn right down. When we asked Oliver to quickly add a couple of logs he flatly refused, claiming some “new policy” which said he doesn’t add any more logs after 20:00. So how they can all of a sudden do this I don’t know, as it basically kills the atmosphere for anyone coming in after their meal. What’s more disingenuous is they had a Christmas leaflet there saying they have open log fires burning, which is a lie. The lounge hasn’t had even a fire since 2014 and you’re extremely lucky to see an evening wood burner in the bar. Take your coat or body warmer with you, and be prepared for Oliver’s charm. You may need a stiff drink to combat it.
