Loved the historic building and its virtually waterfront location. The tavern ambiance was great. I found the meal preparation to be wonderful. Service was lacking and sometimes a bit cold, but that's the U.S. east coast. I also had one of the older, smaller rooms, and it honestly needed attention. This is a great place to take pictures and immerse yourself in history. Definitely take the ferry across the river even if you don't have a reason to go!

We live nearby and have stayed at the Inn several times, Room 2 is our favorite!! Bathroom is small but everything else is very roomy. Beautiful view of the Tred Avon from the corner windows. Also, very accessible location at the top of the stairs. Food and drink at the Inn are amazing for all meals. Our favorite place to eat whenever we are in town -which is often. BTW- we have never had any experiences with haunting - although I can imagine the spirits might enjoy staying there!

Room was small, but clean and comfortable. Restaurant for dinner was very nice, but the waiter, yikes, I think his meds wore off! I left my phone charger in the room, and they were nice enough to mail it back to me which I really appreciate!! Oxford is such a nice town, you can just park your car at the inn and walk around if the weather is nice.

The place is charming and the food is wonderful. However, don’t stay in Room 2 (directly at the top of the stairs) unless you’re into the supernatural. I know the story I’m about to share is unbelievable and as it was happening I had to pinch myself. My husband was in the bathroom and I was resting on the bed before dinner. There was a weird feel in the air kinda like the charge one feels near a lightening strike. Then suddenly the bed started shaking. I yelled to my husband, who came running, and witnessed it. I wasn’t afraid just amazed. That night the room provided no rest. We felt a prescience like someone was there. And on and off I would get so hot I had to throw off the blankets. It was a cold night! We did like the location and the Inn itself but you may want to request a different room. ( we went in November of 2021, I couldn’t choose this year on the scroll)

Fly infested Bottle 2, Food was fabulous, at times. Servers overwhelmed. While we appreciate keepers of History et al, We can see the upkeep of same is in need of help. Suggest a full time HandyMan. Hundreds of dollars of ours, not well spent.

About a year ago we stayed in Bottle One (half of the small, separate cottage). The house next door had a lot of construction noise throughout our visit. This year's stay in Bottle Two moved us even closer to the loud trucks and construction noises. The photo is this year's view! A few years ago ( before we got our dog who necessitated us staying in the cottage), our room in the main inn put us next to all the road construction noise. The RMI staff can't do anything about all the disturbing noise. But you can call and ask about it before you book. The included breakfast (food and service) was excellent. Unfortunately they only had one server for lunch so that was painful. The fish and chips were just ok but the reuben was good!

When we arrived, no one was there to greet us and check us in--the manager had simply left an envelope taped to the door with our room keys. This led to a misunderstanding about our check-out date, and the manager threatening to remove our belongings from or room. We were an hour away paddling a canoe when we found this out, and we had to rush back to claim our luggage. The place is in terrible condition--shabby rugs, dank room, minuscule and filthy bathroom with a door that was impossible to close, pervaded by a musty smell on the second floor and the stench of cooking oil on the first. When the manager did show up, she was extremely rude. The place has obviously been in precipitous decline. We would advise not booking here unless you check it out in person beforehand.

The Robert Morris Inn was the perfect blend for our three generational 50th wedding anniversary: a cottage for our daughter's family of four, a room to accommodate another daughter with dog, and the old inn rooms for the rest of us, which were nicely restored. We also needed a private dining room for the 50th dinner celebration and the Tred Avon Room was perfect and was set up especially for our evening. After dinner, the great room with grand piano afforded our college-age grandson the opportunity to entertain us with several of his composed pieces. A special shout-out to Deborah who beforehand had listened to our needs, showed us around the property and then reserved for us the specific accommodations we needed as well as the dining room. She also steered us to a kayak-rental company which delivered two tandem-kayaks to the Inn for our use both on the afternoon and next morning. Ian, the owner of the Inn then showed us the best place to launch the kayaks which was only about 50 yards away. Originally we had tried to find the right mix in St. Michaels but found we would need at least three properties--dining room, B&B accommodations for adults, and a separate motel for grandchildren. The Robert Morris Inn provided all three.

The inn is absolutely quaint and full of character. So old and well taken care of. The location to die for. The quaint town of Oxford is so beautiful, with the water and boats, ya th club and cute houses. People at the hotel were the most wonderful, food great and dog friendly!!!! A perfect weekend!
