Recently visited this hotel, first time in Turkey! It didn’t disappoint. Fantastic hotel, lovely food. Staff are wonderful . Really enjoyed our stay. Couldn’t have asked for more! Highly recommended for family’s and couples, the place really does cater for everyone! 5 star at its finest!

What can I say about the Sunis..Firstly I am sorry it has taken me so long to write the review! This was our 3rd trip to Turkey, and in all honesty it was going to struggle to beat our trip last year, but it still did well and I would highly recommend. I've tried to break it down by area's I think relevant: Reception & Guest Relations Very friendly, accommodating. No job too big or small. Lovely Lady with the red hair, I am so sorry I forgot her name but she was lovely! Rooms & House Keeping Very fancy room controls to advise whether you want your rooms cleaning. Mini fridge topped up everyday, and always cleaned to a high standard. We had a slight issue when we arrived where we had to swap rooms the next day, but the manager couldn't be any more apologetic or accommodating while resolving this. They were Fab. Only shout out for our shower was it did over flow on the floor! We just made sure it didn't. No biggy. Pools & Slides Normal slide opening times the same as I have seen at other hotels 2 hours from 10am - noon then closed and re-open at 2pm - 4pm. Little shame some of these times were at the same time as kids club activities. Life guards hit and miss, daughter had an issue one day and they were like lighting in the water, and another day a boys floaty came off and I found myself trying to Hasselhoff to save him while the Lifeguard watched his phone. I think this was reported though as the next day someone was out ordering them around like the army. Haha! The cleaners around the pool deserve a medal, some guests were just vile, half the time I was in the Guest relations asking for other guests to be dealt with! Respect to others cost nothing. It annoys me. Glass round the pool for example. Food Amazing, Ill be honest and say the service is not the same as I have experienced in other Turkey restaurants, to some extent it didn't bother me. However table service was more in evenings than breakfast/lunch. The little kebab restaurant near the pool is an absolute must - amazing. Most nights we were served by Siam and we loved him. Al-a-carte - 1 a week allowance is free, and then you would have to pay for further sittings. We did Turkish/Mexican - both were lovely. Was new to me having a free sitting, I think further sittings were a bit more pricey than I have seen, but not complaining about having a freebee! Need to be early to book though as you can only book day in advance and some days were closed. Sorry can not remember!! Ice Cream Parlour/Patisserie absolute must! Lovely and cool up there. Beautiful desserts as always. Fatima for Omelette everyday - loved her. Kids Club The team themselves try their utmost with what they have but in all honesty the facilities around the pool could do with upgrading. They have a good room inside the hotel but it does not seem to be utilised. A negative for me is having to pay for some of the bits for the kids club, not something I have experienced previously. Examples would be T-shirt/bag pain

I write this review after a week I wish to erase from my memory forever . I write this while awaiting my release from the worst hotel , this is no where near 5 Star more like 2 or 3 at best . This was our first visit to Turkey and probably our last after this experience . I will start with the positive the hotel itself is large and grand loads of marble everywhere . I am afraid that is the end of the positive comments . I would firstly like to draw attention to the food quality and food hygiene , I now understand why there has been so many problems around food poisoning in this country this year after the experience here . Let’s start with breakfast fried eggs broken into pans then stirred with a fork which is then used to scoop butter from a block still dripping in raw egg cross contamination so no eggs for breakfast . Omelette station raw egg on hands then into various ingredients containers cross contamination again . Raw chicken being handled then touching freshly cooked meats , various meats cold , un cooked or even raw . Flies around food for hours especially around pool bar . The same things being served for lunch and dinner repeatedly . If a popular dish is empty it would not be replenished . Staff are miserable , unhelpful and rude . They give the impression you are putting them out if you ask for anything . They do not speak or understand English which I thought with the amount of British people spending their money on holidays here our language would not be an issue . This hotel closes at the end of October something which I found should have been stated in the description . I feel the hotel and staff are winding down after their season however this has not helped our enjoyment or lack of it . The pools are so cold no one goes in them . Guest relations answer to that use the indoor pool . Sorry do not come on holiday when the sun is shining and the temperature is above 28 degrees to use an indoor swimming pool .I do not understand why the pools are so cold when the ambient temperature is high . We were in Grand Canaria a few weeks ago ambient temperature was no different to here , we were never out the pools . Facilities and entertainment is no existent through the day . First three days of night entertainment none existent , cinema starts at 9 pm no it does not . Staff spend more time huddled in groups or on their mobile phones taking selfies or generally messing about . Even the kitchen staff are handling their phones then touching food or plates and cutlery before being put back in their pockets disgusting . Overall a poor example of a 5 star hotel that should be reviewed again and regraded no more than 3 star . It is pointless having style when there is little or no substance . I do feel Tui should not list facilities that are not there or pools which cannot be used as they are to cold . The closure at the end of October should also be stated , knowing what we know now we would never have booked to come here ho

Just returned today from a brilliant two week stay at this hotel. The hotel is equipped with everything you would expect from a 5 star hotel in Turkey with two large attractive pool areas and a clean sandy beach with clear waters. If you like to snorkel it's ideal with a variety of fish and some rocky areas. The pools were cold but no colder than others we have experienced in Turkey in October and certainly no colder than the sea which many still swam in. The whole hotel is kept beautifully clean and the staff friendly even though at times rushed off their feet. We found the reception staff and Guest Relations particularly helpful, answering our many questions, organising taxis back and forth to Kusadasi and Ephusus and has to be said generally making our stay even more enjoyable with unexpected acts of kindness. Service in the main buffet restaurant was a bit chaotic in the first few days due to the sheer numbers of guests but we just changed our times and went when the rush died down. The variety of foods on offer throughout the day was extensive and did vary on the evening buffet although staples such as chicken dishes, pasta, pizza always available. The many a la carte restaurants are definitely worth a visit. We tried Mexican, Chinese and the Italian and found them all very good. We enjoyed the live music events and although we didn't see all of the shows, we enjoyed the ones we did see. If I had one recommendation to the management it would be to try and cover the food in the beachside restaurant/snack area a bit better as I think the sparrow's (birds) are eating more pasta than the guests! It is however amusing to watch their cheeky exploits! I would like to send thanks to all the employees who made our stay so enjoyable particularly Gurcan who always looked after us so well and Hatice who kept our rooms (1202,1206) so spotlessly clean and always greeted us with warmth and a smile. To those due to visit, try the unfamiliar dishes in the restaurant and definitely the cheese and spinach Gozleme cooked fresh in the snack bar.

We are just back home after having such a lovely relaxing holiday at this hotel. From the minute we got there until we left we were well looked after. The room was clean and was cleaned every day even though we did not expect this, drinks were refilled in the fridge every day toiletries topped up as required. Food was good and could always find something to eat at each meal time. Waiters and waitresses were lovely and looked after us really well. It was just a shame to see so much waste left on tables if your not going to eat it why put so much on your plate you can always go back for more as there was always plenty. The beach was lovely and coffee being bought to you in the mornings was a added bonus even though the beach cafe was 2 minutes walk away. The food in the beach bar was good especially the donuts and waffles with the jam and cream in the late afternoon. All the management were good and a very special guy was Haman from guest relations was such a good guy. Spoke very good English's and was always so helpful would come and chat to us most days. We did a trip to EFES was expensive and yes good to see but as for the GUIDE we would not bother with them again he rushed us through the site and we felt that we had missed quite a lot of it. Do it yourself dont pay the money. Not much to do in that area and not a lot for children. Animation we saw about but never got to chat with them. Life guards about all the time. Would we go back may be in a couple of years time.

We have recently returned from our stay in September. For us, one week was enough time at this hotel to enjoy everything they had to offer. It offers pure relaxation if that is what you are looking for but also has plenty of entertainment throughout the day and into the evening if that is something you are seeking too. As we stayed for 1 week, we were entitled to enjoy x1 meal each at the al a carte restaurant, there are plenty to choose from, we chose the Italian. Something to bare in mind, you can only book the Al a Carte the day you wish to attend. Bookings fill up fast (by 9.15 am). It is advisable to do this first thing on the day you wish to book at the Guest Relations office, opposite reception. The Italian restaurant served around 5 courses! I am extremely particular about ordering steak and it being cooked right, but you do not have to worry at all at the Italian, it was the best I have ever eaten! A special thank you to our waiter Ayupp, who made sure we were looked after so well during our meal. If you haven’t visited the Irish bar during your holiday, then you really haven’t taken in the full Suni Efes experience. Mutlu is the master of creating the most incredible cocktails and is an absolute credit to Sunis. We enjoyed our nightly visit and were always made to feel extremely welcome, the absolute highlight of our holiday hands down! We paid for a beach cabana during our stay which I highly recommend. The beach cabanas give you the opportunity to enjoy your own HUGE space on the beach. Hiring a cabana gave us the ultimate relaxation. We were waited on by Yanha who made us feel like VIPs, we were looked after so well, and her smiling face made us feel so welcome. We thoroughly enjoyed the variety of cocktails that she wowed us with too! We also enjoyed a pier cabana on one of our days which again I totally recommend! We were looked after by Elfy who was amazing. A special shout out to Musa who cleans the whole hotel, always smiling and keeping everything clean and tidy. Thank you to Banu for helping us with our cabana bookings and making us feel so welcome during our holiday too! Also, a big thank you for the late checkout. The only minor issue we had was finding a seat for dinner. It was always busy, and some people stayed at their tables for too long after eating. The staff did their best to clear the tables quickly, but maybe the hotel could have a system to indicate when a table is free. We found that arriving at the start of the evening was the best option for ensuring that we had somewhere to sit. If you are looking for a hotel which has it all, including great food, great service, daily entertainment, and an all-round clean and pleasant hotel then look no further. The Sunis Efes lives up to its 5-star rating.

Where do i start? Style over substance, definitely.. Good points Hotel reception very grand, however tired in places. Amber the rep was very good, she listened and has opened a case with Tui, approachable and proactive. Apple tea nice Turkish restaurant very good and staff really lovely. Manager on duty at breakfast very nice and helpful as there was often foods missing, he would run around trying to source. I am afraid this is all I can say about this hotel. Bad points 99% staff rude and miserable. Guest relations absolutely awful, take more interest on personal phones and selfies . Banu ok but clearly defensive of hotel and staff , however more needs to be done in dealing with guests who are upset and very unhappy. Poor interpersonal skills . Pools are a joke, I have traveled all over the world and never have I been unable to use the pools as they are Baltic. Guest relations response was there is an indoor pool, who wants to go indoors on their holiday? The pools were absolutely empty, not even the children could swim in them. Absolutely ridiculous and misleading, day time entertainment a lot of is pool based such as water aerobics, polo ect but non existent . Very misleading as many things facilities are non existent or closed. Food is terrible, food that is ok is run down then not replenished, flies on bread, welcome late night meal absolutely disgraceful, pasta rank, sour and margarine sour. Often had to get own drinks at service and hunt for someone to clean tables and replace cutlery. Staff rude and miserable. Food disgusting. We haven’t paid £1800 to eat chips every day. Often food was cold, raw or empty.Pool bar food disgraceful at 4 pm jacket pogoes waffles ect. Served potato that was uncooked, dead flies in sour cream, staff laughing and throwing waffles around landing on dirty work surfaces then cut up for guests to eat. I witnessed all 5 members of staff cooking waffles and burgers with gloves on then sharing and personally eating waffles and burgers with same gloves on , food to mouth, touching foreheads and then continue cooking. Absolutely disgusting, I have had a stomach upset since being here, I do not drink alcohol, I do not sit directly in the sun , I put it down to the food and often dirty plates and glasses. Cross contamination, a lady was breaking eggs left, then went to a oven unopening trays of food, then wiped her brow, touched a dirty oven door then flicked pancakes then continued to cook eggs, poor attention to food hygiene. I have food allergies and many of the food products were unlabelled or food was labelled instance veal stew, in fact was liver . Food charts around but obviously do not adhere to food safety of their guests. First 4 days food was shocking seemed to improve slightly however was informed the capacity of hotel had increased, it was apparent that food was quality was not available for the minority but improved with capacity. Not acceptable. We was informed the hospital shuts on 31st Octob
