Surf & Sand Inn

We were on a road trip along the Oregon coast and we were looking for a place to stay in Pacific City for one night. We had considered going to one of the fancy resorts by the Haystack, but the prices were out of our budget and chose the Surf and Sand Inn instead. Despite our slight concern when we booked it (our previous experiences with motels were not that great), we were impressed with this one. It is excellent value for your bucks. The rooms are spacious and cozy (the vintage decor added a charming touch) and they were spotless clean. The bed was very comfortable. The staff was friendly and cordial. There are a couple of cafes and restaurants at walking distance too. We would definitely consider returning to this place again, if we were to stop in Pacific City in the future.

Love this place but my want to think of place for pet owners a place for poo bags. I didn’t see any place during our stay

Very clean room! The bed was comfortable. Great mattress, nice, clean fresh sheets, and good pillows. Record players in the room was awesome. The rug was clean enough that I was comfortable walking on it barefoot, which is unheard of in most hotels. Lots of little extra touches. Such as flower shaped tissues. I would definitely stay here again. The best thing is the price!!!

What a great find! Cute old school motel, well maintained and convenient. Very quiet. I'd definitely stay here again. Bonus: record players in each room and a huge selection of records at the front desk!

Perfect spot for the night. Nice rooms w record player & records in the lobby! Would def return, great value!

Location was nice, quick walk to the beach and restaurants. Rooms a little outdated. Safe was great! Liked the keyless entry option.

There's retro....and then there's just old and poorly maintained. ALL the fixtures in the bathroom need recaulking; the caulk is so old it's disintegrating. The faucet leaks around the base. The toilet seat is chipped and too small for a child. The shower knob is so tight it took two people to turn it on. The outlets don't work. The chair is not at all comfortable. There is NO temperature control. There is NO privacy. Most places give you 3-4 pillows, even for a double bed - not just 2 that are older than my grandmother and thinner than a sheet of cardboard. The fridge keeps nothing cold. There is no possible way for more than one person to see the TV. The staff are not present and do not care if the guests are happy or not. Also, you can EITHER be high tech with a code for the door (which randomly locked and unlocked) OR you can be retro with actual keys. You cannot have both. And from the pictures, this place looks like it's on the beach. It’s not.

Nice stay in a retro motel. Clean, quiet and convenient, close to the downtown area and beach. Each room has a record player, and the lobby has LP's to borrow. Really fun! Each room has been nicely remodeled; we'd stay here again.
