Uprising Beach Resort

Everything was so lovely. I will be back with my family to enjoy again. Awesome place to be with families.

A very VERY strange experience here I must say.. I arrived at the 28 bed dorm room (even though trip.com said it was 10 bed) and there was no sign of any other life in the dorm at all. Most of the beds looked like they had been made months ago and nobody had slept in them since because they were covered in a layer of dust and dirt.. I went back to reception to ask what was going on and they said I’m the only one booked in so I just accepted it as it was. However, later on when I was sitting the bar a member of staff approached me and told me I had been upgraded (because supposedly the dorms weren’t clean due to a big group having checked out yesterday) so I ended up spending two nights in a luxurious Bure, the first night shared with someone else who was booked in for the dorms. The Bure was beautiful and spotless and I am very grateful for the upgrade. The outside shower was also very nice! The breakfast was excellent with lots to choose from! Eggs, sausages, beans, bread, cakes, yogurts, fruit, multiple cereals, tea, coffee and juice, one morning there were pancakes. The only downsides to this resort is they don’t have any activities or excursions of their own and they direct you to the hotel further along - I did snorkelling there which costs $75 - the whole thing felt rushed in my opinion and the trip wasn’t worth the money. We got barely any time in the water and there was no time to stop and observe anything, seemed like the guys on the boat just wanted to get it all over and done with as fast as possible.

Bure was nice and spacious, breakfast was good and the meals we had were also really nice. Advertised online that there was a gym but there wasn’t one there.

Hotel is in a perfect location within Pacific beach. We stayed in a commodore beach front villa. The room had everything we needed but felt a little tired and needed a little upgrade. Food in the resort was ok. After much complaining by me halfway through our stay they bought a new toaster for breakfast but it shouldn’t have taken a customer complaining before the broken one was changed.

We were recommended this place for our Anniversary... but it was ruined by flying cockroaches in our room at night everywhere, the breakfast every morning was very limited, we were put in a cabin next to another cabin being fully renovated so we had to put up with the banging of tools and loudness of the workmen, the outdoor shower light was broken so we couldn’t shower at night. I’d rather go back to the Beach House where I get my money’s worth and they have a activities for all ages.

1st and foremost, the Fijian staff were absolutely amazing. Can never fault them as they are so attentive, happy and always looking to help. So all the staff were amazing. But....Its definitely a 3 star resort. Needs alot of repairs, the aircon isnt big enough for the room, they ran out of a third of their menu for a 3-4 days and the menu was very basic. Again, there is no negativity towards the staff as they are perfect and apologetic for the above things, but of course its up to the owners to fix.
