The Mimslyn Inn

This is a lovely hotel! It's classy and elegant, and overall it'll make your vacation that much more special. The location is great, as you can walk to restaurants or other places in Luray. The Luray Caverns are a quick drive away, as is a Walmart and Food Lion, and Skyline Drive's Thornton Gap Entrance is close by. I ate at the Circa '31 restaurant for breakfast, which was reasonably priced (the menu is small with a few standard breakfast options). Free coffee and muffins in the lobby at all times. The Speakeasy restaurant is very good, and has various specials/deals each night. The bedrooms are small, but comfortable. The grounds are beautiful, with an area for bonfires and hammocks, as well as a pool and hot tub area. The staff is very kind and accommodating. A few recommendations for the management: ~Put mini fridges in the rooms ~Put chairs on the balcony so people can use it as a sitting area ~Something to provide more counter space in the bathrooms I recommend the Mimslyn Inn to anyone staying in the Luray area!

Convenient location for visiting the Shenandoah National Park. Enjoyed the SpeakEasy for good food, drinks and friendly staff. Breakfast at the Circa was also good.

Great place . Perfect location to get in and out of Shenandoah for some hiking by day and good food and drink at night

Mimslyn - The room comes equipped with a coffee maker, but I prefer not to use the creamer that is supplied so I asked the front desk concierge if there was a place to buy milk and he told me there wasn’t but then he said hold on and he went away from the desk and came back with a cup full of milk for me to use in my coffee - Super elegant Georgian restoration - Excellent and very, very helpful staff - The grounds are absolutely beautiful and the pool is sparkling clean - The speakeasy restaurant and bar is so warm and friendly. The food is delicious. I had the strawberry salad and my husband had had the ham chicken, onion mushroom flatbread. The waitresses could not have been faster, more friendly and pleasant. - Fred at the front desk is outstanding - Georgian style decor everywhere - Super comfortable bed - Jacuzzi tub - The pool is not heated, but it is a saltwater pool and when we visited, it was 95° outside and the pool was super warm. I was also impressed that the pool was so clean as well as the hot tub. - The Georgian style of the hotel rings, true the hotel with beautiful furniture and decor - We had lunch at the speakeasy, which is a restaurant bar in the hotel. The staff was super super nice. The portions were very large and the food was very good. Hubby had a flatbread pizza and I had a strawberry salad which was out of this world. - We didn’t eat at the more upscale restaurant, but you could see that it is a very fancy dining room that hosts breakfast lunch, and dinner - The hotel room was well supplied with bathroom, toiletries, and plenty of towels. The only downside for me is that there weren’t robes in the room. - The grounds are absolutely stunning and are worse walking around is a matter of fact the hotel is stunning and it’s worth checking out all of the different spots in the hotel

1 - undoubtedly one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve had. The queen room was so small it fit the bed and not much more. The shades do nothing to keep light out. Our view is a roof and the closet door won’t open. A wedding was blasting loud music all evening and the nice restaurant we intended to visit our first evening was closed due to the wedding. We weren’t told any of this would be happening during our visit. Had we known or were told, we would have gone elsewhere but we got no warning from the staff. All in all a horrible value for $200 per night.

It’s lovely antique decor and one of the finest kitchens in Virginia

Property was beautiful! However, I wasn’t happy at all with the staff. My husband and I walked in around 3:20pm and the front desk lady said the room would be available soon (guaranteed at 4pm). We waited for half an hour and then another family came in, she checked them in and gave them a key right away. I specifically saw they got the same type of room as us. Then she called me to say my room is ready, when I approached to get the key she said oh no wait I need to check if it’s clean. Room looked nice and clean, but the king size bed sheets looked definitely used (all wrinkled up).
