As others have pointed out, you need to be picked up in town and driven to this location. It was nice enough, historic, and well furnished, but it was uncomfortably cold. Dinner is served late in the cold dining room, while breakfast was also slow to get going, plus, we had to be driven back into town to continue our walk. I wouldn’t stay here if you’re walking the Camino.

We enjoyed a wonderful stay here whilst walking the Camino. Several reviews complain about the fact that this beautiful hotel isn’t directly on the Camino which is true, however as we were picked up and dropped back of the following morning, we felt that the quality of our stay absolutely outweighed any very minor inconvenience. I appreciate that it is personal choice but I would much rather be a little further away in an exquisite hotel with beautiful surroundings and great food than some of the other lodgings we stayed in closer to the trail. We learnt that the building was 250 years old and it had been lovingly and sympathetically restored to an extremely high standard. The furnishings were of excellent quality and it was apparent that this family run hotel was very much their pride and joy. The hotel is located in a very rural area so the only sounds to be heard was the wonderful birdsong. We stayed at the beginning of May when the rain was relentless so the fire in the dining room and the central heated rooms were very welcome indeed. The weather was my only disappoin**ent as I would have loved to have spent some time relaxing on the loungers in the beautiful gardens which could be accessed directly from my room. Dinner and breakfast were of an excellent standard, again, my favourite meal of the whole trip. Thank you so much Casa Roan, without doubt, a 5* stay!

Beautiful quiet comfortable stay on the Camino. Manuel picked us up from Ligonde within 15 minutes of calling. Dropped us back to the trail in the morning. Dinner was excellent. Choice of three starters, mains and pudding. Excellent breakfast- cake, toast, yoghurt, eggs, fresh juice and coffee. Lovely warm bedroom. Very very nice, felt very luxurious after staying in hostels. Wifi wasn't the strongest in the bedrooms, which wasn't very important to us but might be to you.

This was the only disappoin**ent on our Camino journey. It is too far off the camino track and, although they kindly picked us up and returned us, I wish we hadn't stayed there. We were cold and wet and there was a lovely pub in Ventas offering hot bowls of veggie soup that would have suited us perfectly. Having to wait half an hour to be picked up was miserable and then we were told that no food was being served until 8pm, which was far too late and we were ready for bed by then. It was really cold throughout the hotel, including in the dining room. Breakfast wasn't served until 8am and service was really slow. It was also the worst breakfast of our trip - just bread, cake and yoghurt. We then found ourselves at the back of the queue for transport back to the camino, and didn't get back on the track until after 10am, instead of our usual 7.30am set off. To add insult to injury, the cost of the meal was over double what we paid elsewhere on the trip. The people were lovely but this is not suitable accommodation for those walking long distances each day on the Camino as it is just too inconvenient.

This is a must stay! Very comfortable relaxing a**osphere, dinner choices were fresh, delicious and wow, so much food. Breakfast was perfect, not too heavy but still filling. We had no idea so many people stayed the same night because it was quiet. We look forward to going back. Beds were perfect.

The staff was a little snippy. We walked the Camino from Sarria and this was our 4th stop. When we arrived, the front desk person was snippy. After walking hours (4.5 hours) we were tired. We ate at a cafe in Ventas del Naron. We knew there was no food available for lunch at Casa Roan. The location is quite isolated. Beautiful in its tranquility. We were assigned rooms in the new addition. Clean and comfy. But there is a smell in the hallway and the bathroom. At first a whiff of sewage smell. And then it rained, and the slight smell was more pronounced. We stayed only one night. The dinner was served at 8 pm. the room was packed and the service was slow. Breakfast was served at 8 am (I think) and I believe the limited staff was late in getting all the breakfast items out. We sat there waiting for the coffee, bread, milk, etc etc. I am gluten intolerant and I had to wait longer for that. I suggest, buffet style for hot beverages and some fresh fruits would be much appreciated

The accommodation in that place was almost a nigh**are, it is very far from the road and the town, they said they would pick us up and we had to wait in a lonely and desolate place, the young people who picked us up were rude and their mother was even worse, she even threatened us, the house It smells old, the food is expensive, the lady didn't want to leave us in the place we told her to be, really scary. I DO NOT ever recommend it and place my complaint with orbiways

It is a wonderful place in the rural environment. Located in the countryside, very close to the route. A very well adapted and cared for house that invites you to stay longer. The owners can pick you up by taxi from some point, for example Ant Pass, take you to rest and return you to the same point to continue your journey. The attention is exceptional, super attentive. Highly recommended!!

Our favorite hotel so far on the Camino! Cool farmhouse with big windows to see the Mountain View. Great location, friendly staff, room are clean. About 8k off the Camino but the grandson will pick you up from town. Great wine and food too! Buen Camino!
