My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Alia Palace. It is a spacious and clean hotel with a wonderful pool area and plenty of sun beds. The pool bar serves delicious cocktails and you have a wonderful view out over the sea. We were on a bed and breakfast basis as we like to explore the area and don’t like being restricted by meal times. We found the breakfast to be excellent. It’s buffet style but very fresh and more than you could wish for. There is all the usual English bits, plus yogurts, granola, fruits etc, and then plenty of pastries, but also lovely fresh fish, feta cheese, meats, fresh tomatoes/cucumber… we were blown away. It’s served just above the pool so again the views are magnificent and they make delicious iced coffees. We didn’t eat an evening meal at the hotel, but if you are booking full board then it’s worth noting that the hotel is very conscious about food waste. There are some negative comments about the evening buffet not changing very often and this may be why. If you are looking for somewhere to eat, Las Pas at the bottom of the hill is very hood and very reasonable. The shuttle runs until around midnight which is very helpful, but there is also a path through the garden at the front which we took most nights. There are some stray dogs and cats around - it’s very common in Greece. They don’t come up and bother you, they mostly sleep. We are dog people, and the hotel do leave out fresh water and biscuits for them which we really liked to see.

Lengthy review !Please Read! Not worth the price tag... Arrival - airport to a bus which is about 1:30h. After that you are required to get into a van from Alia Hotel which has no AC so you will be sweating balls for another 10-15 mins. At the reception - reception is nicely cooled which was a relief. You are called to the counter and asked for your details and passports. Then you wait for about 15 mins till you're called again. You are later informed about the environment fee of €10 per day (€70 in our case) which I was not aware and then you are taken to your room. Room - room has AC which works well, but.... The mattress is horrible, it's very firm and uncomfortable. It feels like you're sleeping on a floor. As this is (5* Hotel) I would expect the bed to be comfortable at least. We have spend a week in here and I've not had a good night sleep. The Pool beds are more comfortable than the actual bed in our room which really says it all. The TV has no internet connection so no Netflix or other streaming apps so you're stuck with Greek TV channels. Restaurant/Buffet - Buffet is very mediocre with only several mains, couple desserts options, salad bar and few bits and pieces here and there. Pretty disappointing as this is not cheap hotel nor low star Hotel. The Hotel is changing the food options every 1 or 2 a week. They are also implementing lunch food that stayed, into dinner which I do understand ( wastage ) After few days, you will be bored of eating the same or similar foods. Pool Bar - over all it is pretty good, they are not cheating out from alcohol in drinks. As we had all inclusive, we only had access to about half of the drinks menu which was disappointing. One day I wanted a RedBull and they have told me that it's not included in all inclusive ( which it should be because it is a soft drink which was included ) anyways, the RedBull was €7 !! and for those who do not have all inclusive, 1 cocktail is €12 +/-. Pool side - The main selling point.... It is nice and pleasant, you get plenty of sun during the day and as said above, the pool beds are comfortable and also good size. Rooms location - The Hotel location is built on a steep hill which means most of the rooms are up the hill so good luck going up and down few times a day, especially in summer time. Staff - Entry level English as expected. Half of the staff do care for the customers but the other half not really which sometimes don't really make your day. Entertainment - only 3 out of the 7 days we were treated to a " show " night which were singers and only 1 out of the 3 were listenable. Not good enough for " 5* " Hotel. Over all, considering all the above. This hotel is not true 5*, more like 3* or 4*. If you're looking for 5* experience and treatment, this one is not the one. Only 3 good things are the pool side, shuffle bus to take you to the town/beach and back to the hotel every hour and that this Hotel is half empty so it's not overcrowded ( wonder why )

It was by no means a five-star hotel. The room was decent, nothing remarkable, but the lunch was awful. After closing the bathroom door, I couldn't get it to open again, so I had to call reception to explain. After waiting for approximately 15 minutes, I was able to open the door. The outdoor pool and bar were fantastic, and the spa was great too. However, when we first visited, there was no staff member present at all, so we had to wait for almost two hours before we saw anyone. Other than that, the spa was fine. The hotel was decent overall, but it wasn't a five star establishment because there were a few areas that could have been far better.

We've just returned from a week in Alia Palace which we enjoyed very much. The hotel was lovely, the staff were really attentive from reception through to housekeeping. Our room was cleaned everyday and sheets and towels were replaced, only problem was the showerhead was loose so we tied it up. Other than that the room had everything we needed. The view from our room was amazing, as we think it was for most of them. The restaurant was really good, buffet breakfast and dinner as we were half board. Plenty choice of amazing Greek food and salads, the desserts were amazing! We were very well looked after by Chrishola ( sorry about spelling ), who was so sweet and really helpful. The pools were gorgeous and plenty sunbeds for everyone. The views over the town were amazing. Shuttle bus to the town was great and very frequent. The walk down, or up, didn't take long, but that service was good to have. During our week the entertainment was good. Authentic Greek duo were fab, another night lovey trio singing modern covers. The poolside bar staff were amazing. Only downturn for us was the presence of stray dogs and cats. The dogs were noisy at night, but we never felt threatened by them. All in all, we would recommend this hotel if you are seeking some chilled out, relaxing time away from the stresses of everyday life.

Sehr gutes Hotel!

I was staying in this hotel for 3 nights. We had some cash in our wallets and somehow we didnt have even one bill left. When we complained at the manager, he was rude and started yelling at us. For the check in, we were right on time (3pm check in time) and waited 1.5 hour more to check in. Room was covered in sand (not cleaned well). I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS “HOTEL”!!!

We stayed in one of the private villas as a party to a bday trip and WE GOT ROBBED! Litterly all the cash was taken out of our wallets while we were at the pool. Manager YELLED at us when we confronted him about it. Room was good but definitely not clean, towels with dirt, entire toilet was with someones hair, sand and bugs. Check in took around 2 hours waiting due to poor organization to front desk. Food was mediocer. Far from 5 stars experience. My reccomendation is to AVOID THIS HOTEL because you are not safe overthere and manager is totally disrespectful to women.

Ignore all the moaning Brits, when were they ever happy with anything. Surprised there's no negative comment about lack of fish and chips in Greece . Anyways ,place is superb. Good ,warm food with diferent choices every day, some best beef dishes and deserts ever tried. Rooms are cleaned everyday and have all the amenities I'd expect from 5 stars. Villa has exceptional private pool area and is cleaned and desinfected daily. location might be a bit dodgy as there's quite a walk up and downhill towards beach, but hotel provides free hourly coach service. all round great place for couples
