Lengthy review !Please Read! Not worth the price tag... Arrival - airport to a bus which is about 1:30h. After that you are required to get into a van from Alia Hotel which has no AC so you will be sweating balls for another 10-15 mins. At the reception - reception is nicely cooled which was a relief. You are called to the counter and asked for your details and passports. Then you wait for about 15 mins till you're called again. You are later informed about the environment fee of €10 per day (€70 in our case) which I was not aware and then you are taken to your room. Room - room has AC which works well, but.... The mattress is horrible, it's very firm and uncomfortable. It feels like you're sleeping on a floor. As this is (5* Hotel) I would expect the bed to be comfortable at least. We have spend a week in here and I've not had a good night sleep. The Pool beds are more comfortable than the actual bed in our room which really says it all. The TV has no internet connection so no Netflix or other streaming apps so you're stuck with Greek TV channels. Restaurant/Buffet - Buffet is very mediocre with only several mains, couple desserts options, salad bar and few bits and pieces here and there. Pretty disappointing as this is not cheap hotel nor low star Hotel. The Hotel is changing the food options every 1 or 2 a week. They are also implementing lunch food that stayed, into dinner which I do understand ( wastage ) After few days, you will be bored of eating the same or similar foods. Pool Bar - over all it is pretty good, they are not cheating out from alcohol in drinks. As we had all inclusive, we only had access to about half of the drinks menu which was disappointing. One day I wanted a RedBull and they have told me that it's not included in all inclusive ( which it should be because it is a soft drink which was included ) anyways, the RedBull was €7 !! and for those who do not have all inclusive, 1 cocktail is €12 +/-. Pool side - The main selling point.... It is nice and pleasant, you get plenty of sun during the day and as said above, the pool beds are comfortable and also good size. Rooms location - The Hotel location is built on a steep hill which means most of the rooms are up the hill so good luck going up and down few times a day, especially in summer time. Staff - Entry level English as expected. Half of the staff do care for the customers but the other half not really which sometimes don't really make your day. Entertainment - only 3 out of the 7 days we were treated to a " show " night which were singers and only 1 out of the 3 were listenable. Not good enough for " 5* " Hotel. Over all, considering all the above. This hotel is not true 5*, more like 3* or 4*. If you're looking for 5* experience and treatment, this one is not the one. Only 3 good things are the pool side, shuffle bus to take you to the town/beach and back to the hotel every hour and that this Hotel is half empty so it's not overcrowded ( wonder why )
