I'm staying in this hotel as I start to write this review. The hotel is nothing like the bright stylized promotional photos. It's an old hotel, that's been poorly upgraded. There was much confusion at check-in as the lift is broken and several guests were unable to use the stairs. All wanted rooms on the lower floor. Carrying cases up many floors was impossible for them. There is no aircon and the windows are chained to prevent them opening wide. The room temperature was probably about 30 centigrade. Not a pleasant experience for a comfortable night's sleep. Hotel maintenance for a newly refurbished building is poor, apart from the lift not working the shower screen wheels were broken and the sink was missing a stopper. There was a broken shelf over the basin. One of the net curtains was missing which meant the curtains had to be drawn to achieve any privacy. It appears that this is a franchise hotel which may explain why it is not up to the usual high Radisson standards. Won’t be booking this Radisson again and will be reviewing any future bookings with the company despite being a regular customer for many years and achieving the rewards which go with it. On a positive note, the staff were friendly and the housekeeping good. The cooked English breakfast was excellent, as where the pastries. Car parking is available and the beach close by. The area is well connected with bus routes and the railway station.
