Casa Panama Hotel

When I looked to book this place, I thought on average, the comments weren't too bad. I checked in and was given my keys to room 31. My first mistake was to assume it was on the 3rd floor, it wasn't (that's the rooftop bar). I needed someone from the staff to help me and frankly it seemed like I was bothering them for the help. The room faced into the road and similar to the other comments from other reviews, it was loud. Loud from the street and loud from the rooftop bar. Later that night, I wake up and notice my nightstand was wet and it took me a minute to realize so was my bed. So around 12:30 in the morning, I have to go to reception and tell them about the leak. They seemed to be aware that this was an occurrence with the room and give me a room in the interior on the ground level. When I got the room, it seemed OK but again I was lacking sleep and I was grateful I was able to move to another room. My new room was for those with a disability. It did not have a safe, nor did it have a hair dryer. The mini fridge was plugged in but didn't seem to work. The Next day I asked about the safe and the fridge. They were going to have someone look into it both. The staff was great that they did get it looked at, but the fridge tended to now freeze everything rather than keep it cool. When i asked about the lack of safe, I was told that my new room was an "emergency" room. So I guess I'm an emergency, one worksheet need a safe? The hotel itself is well situated and easy to walk to many sites in Casco Viejo. It's got a very modern, industrial look to it. My biggest complaint was how loud it was due to the rooftop bar. I was on the ground level and I felt like I was right there enjoying the music. The music was loud from the bar and this was freaky from around midnight to 3 in the morning. If you are a heavy sleeper, it should be good. If not, you've been warned.

This hotel was in an excellent location for Casco Viejo, although not as close to the metro station(you wouldn’t want to stay near the metro station anyways). I took a taxi from the airport to this city. The hotel is very close to the gulf water, so it has a cooler draft., and 2 minutes walking distance to Casco Viejo. Initial entry to this hotel is a learning process, so just be patient and ring the doorbell next to the glass entryway, and wait. Security to this hotel is not manned, but use your keyfob to access 24 hours. I stayed for 6 nights and booked a balcony too, it was well worth it, because at night you can relax and watch the sunset. As for the rooms they were adequate and the shower was larger than most hotels. There were no meals included in my booking and coffee was available in the morning inside the atrium, much appreciated. Rooms at the front closest to the street can have cars honking up until midnight, but does get silent after. Also once I requested them to not clean my room that day, but they cleaned it anyway and I wasn’t pleased, so lock you valuables in the room safe, which is used by your key.

An incredibly noisy & sleepless night. Music from upstairs club until maybe 1/2am. That was nothing compared to the noise from 3am - 7am from downstairs. Guy on mic & the base & music was so loud. I felt that I was inside the club, it was crazy. Oh & approx 6am fireworks went off for at least 5 mins. From 7am - 8am it changed to what seemed like a band with trumpets & drumming. I really needed a good nights rest ahead of my 20+ hour journey back to the UK. I have had a couple at the most. Disappointed that the pool was not as it appears on photo. The receptionist advised me it’s open 11am - 4pm and it is possible to sit there outside those times. I came up at 10am to find that the pool has been covered & there are workmen making more noise. One the reasons I booked here was to chill by the pool before my flight. I certainly need that given I hadn’t really slept. They were preparing for an event, it appears the pool belongs to the restaurant & bar. The hotel shouldn’t claiming it is one of their amenities, it’s false advertising. I wish I had read other reviews. Many others seem to have had similar issues. There are some positives. My rooms was nice although dark. The decor & feel is nice. Avoid.

The rooms were very tired and not very clean. Concrete floors, towels were very hard, no phone in the room to call desk, we had to beg for ice, the noise from the street and from the roof top bar was hard to have a decent night sleep. The wifi was cutting in and out and the tv was on a timer and shut down while we wetr watching a program. Would not recommend this hotel.

The amenities are were somewhat lacking and the location is just incredibly noisey, but the staff were friendly and accommodating.

The staff was excellent. The rooms comfortable and very clean. Also the location was ideal. It was within walking distance to all the sites in Casco Viejo.

We stayed 1 of 3 nights in this hotel. The hotel is not advertised as a party hostel... which it may as well be. The nightclub upstairs will keep you up ALL night. Add in the the shotty accommodations and this is a hard pass. For example, one of our bathroom lights was hanging on via the internal electric cord. If you want to spend all night dancing, this could be your spot. If you are not looking to stay up until 5am every night, do not book here.
