Very nice hotel. The rooftop pool and bar were nice ways to cool off. The breakfast was tasty with lots of options. Our room faced the busy street and there was a lot of street noise throughout the night that made sleeping difficult. We only stayed 1 night before a cruise so it was not a big deal but it wouldn't have been great for a longer stay.

Gran Evenia is conveniently located within walking distance to several stores and restaurants in Panama City. The hotel was clean and the staff were very accommodating. The free breakfast is AMAZING...a beautiful spread of just about everything you can imagine: fresh fruit, pastries, cold cuts, cheeses, salad, pancakes, oa**eal, bacon, sausages, cereals, yogurt, grilled vegetables....all delicious. Even the scrambled eggs, which are often dry and bland, were yummy. If I had to cite a negative, it would be that the view isn't as amazing as we'd hoped for, but that really didn't put a damper on our time here. Overall, I felt like this was a great hotel for the price.

Was very underwhelmed by this experience. I would not recommend if you like to spend the day outside of the hotel room and then come home and shower before dinner, because your room will not have been cleaned at a reasonable time. One day, housekeeping arrived at ~4:40pm, and we asked if they could return in thirty minutes. We were told no, as the cleaning staff would be leaving at 5pm and it was either they enter now or our room not be cleaned at all. The next day, I spotted housecleaning 5 doors down at ~3pm. I went to the roof to give the staff time to clean my room, but when I returned at ~4pm, they were working in the room directly next to me. Yet, my room had not been cleaned yet (the room they were working on was 7 doors down from where I had seen them an hour ago, so it appeared they had skipped my room). It wasn't until 5:30pm that they finally entered my room (even though the day before they had claimed they had to leave promptly at 5). In addition to this disappointing timing, there were multiple times throughout the week where our towels had been taken and were not fully replaced (missing the shower mat, only one hand towel despite the fact it was a 2-bed room, etc.) This delayed timing was not just confined to housekeeping. On our first day, the rooftop bar was scheduled to open at 5 pm, but only finally opened at 5:30pm at the request of someone from my group. In addition, the rooms lacked basic amenities such as lotion, tissues, and a trashcan outside of the bathroom. While the hotel did provide wifi, I ended up consistently using my phone as a hot spot due to how slow their wifi was. During our weeklong stay, there were also multiple power outages mid-day.

Thoroughly enjoyed this hotel, although we missed breakfast. Room was nice, bed comfortable, rooftop pool & bar very enjoyable and dinner in restaurant was delicious with violinist! Walkable area of town with stores nearby. Staff were very accommodating and kind. Would definitely return!

We very much enjoyed our stay here. The choice at breakfast was excellent and waiters attentive. Two main criticisms - no waste basket in room just in bathroom and secondly the very slow service at dinner Fiur of us ate in restaurant for two nights and service slow but last night when the group of 16 ate together it was horrendous. We waited 1 hour 20 minutes for our meal and when it came it was cold - too much trouble to send it back to have it reheated! We declined desserts as didn’t was to wait for another long stretch! Having said this would stay here again!

We love the position of the hotel,the pool at the top with sunrise view,the breakfast menu and the wonderfull rooms. The restaurant offers a wide variety and very good food.It is safe to walk around,all shops are in a short distance,even exchange counters.A special thanks to the kindness of the staff.We recommend.

Clean helpful. Not enough coffee in the room and could use another trash receptacle. Excellent restaurant breakfast and dinner. Bar made an excellent margarita downstairs, but not at the pool bar. Bar person did not speak any English and did not know what a margarita was.
