This is a not notch non golf resort. Service is excellent. Food is excellent. Rooms are excellent. I have been coming to Sanctuary for many years. They have maintained the property well. Rooms are clean and well designed. Best shower ever! Staff is always friendly and accomomodating. Not much to complain about. Everything is very expensive. Plan to eat some meals of the property for some variety. Old Town Scottsdale is very close and there are many restaurants close by. Great long weekend spot. My only negative are that there were some loud groups of women by the pool drinking with a music cube, and housekeeping came late in the afternoon. Othewise this is a top notch resort.

The layout of the casitas, the quiet and well kept property with beautiful vegetation. Very clean and beautiful. Loved the hotel activities as well.

On a recent trip I ate breakfast at their main restaurant, Elements, and had an excellent meal and service (thank you Julio!). I then spent the morning at their spa and had an excellent massage and a very relaxing time. This has been a regular stop on my trips to Phoenix, and they never disappoint. In the past, I also stayed there and next time I go to town that is where I will stay.

CALLOUS AND DISRESPECTFUL! For a 5 start hotel they sure are heartless. My mother-in-law had medical emergency and had to be rushed to the hospital two days before our vacation and stay at Sanctuary Camelback Mountain. Of course we had to cancel our trip and every other resort waived the cancelation penalty because they were human and understood the situation. Sanctuary Camelback Mountain actually told us that they could only waive the fee if we pick a new reservation date right then and there and that new reservation would not be cancelable. Seriously? My MIL is hooked up to a ventilator and you want me to plan my next vacation with you? We were going to book with you next time but with this callous response, I will make sure we never stay there again and tell everyone about it.

Staff was prompt when issued arise. Restaurant, bellman, services and amenities were awesome.
Cleaning service declined the longer we stayed.

It wasn't as good as we hoped. On the plus side: the staff was generally excellent: friendly and helpful. There were no extra charges: most classes were free ( the instructors were good) and free bottled water was always available. The spa was enjoyable. Its an intimate place and even at its most crowded, calm and quiet. However, the place needs a serious investment in the infrastructure. The steam room was out the whole time we were there, followed by the hot tub a few days later. Our room had some minor issues ( ceiling tape was falling in a corner), but the biggest issue was the bathroom. The showerhead sprayed water in every direction and the shower didn't drain (water up to the edge of the enclosure). Even after it slowly drained, there was a large puddle because the floor sloped away from the drain. It's not a bad place, but for the price I expected better.

Dropped in for a night, after a disappointing four nights at Four Seasons; stayed another day and night. I am not a fan of casitas, especially if you have to get a ride when none are there, but casitas are walkable distances. Friendly staff.
