Agua Hotels Riverside

What a lovely hotel and holiday! This is a quality hotel with outstanding staff in every department. The staff are so attentive and nothing is a trouble for them. All the staff are very professional, polite, pleasant and helpful not to forget the maintenance staff who responded quickly to issues. My apartment on the 2nd floor has beautiful views with balcony overlooking the bay and Portimao, it was great to sit in the sun. It has the benefit of having cooking facilities as well as a dishwasher and washer/dryer and good underground parking The bedroom was first class, large and comfortable

We were unaware the drain in shower was clogged. The bathroom, hallway, and under hotel door was flooded. Front desk told us housekeeping was not there and to clean it up ourselves with the mop and bucket and towels they brought to our room. After I refused to clean the room and we argued with them for hour we finally had room changed. The front desk was rude with all of this as well. Also next evening when we returned to the second room at 4:45 pm after a tour excursion with Trafalgar Tours and I was in shower so I could make the dinner planned with our tour, the room was not cleaned and maid showed up. My husband requested she return in 10 minutes to allow me to get out and she responded she was getting off work and room was not cleaned that day. If we could, we would rate this hotel minus 5.

Loved the location, view, staff. The bar/restaurant was amazing, and their staff were also quite polite and accommodating.

A very nice location with a beautiful view on the river and Portimao. Good breakfast and beautiful pool. The sunbeds at the pool need to be replaced.

Not quite what I expected for a 4 star hotel. Quite minimalistic. Room was fine, very spacious, for the 3 of us. Little tweaks required like changing the lamp shade and bread bin storage. A few more dishes required. Our stove top broke down twice but only fixed once. The bed for me as an adult could of been much firmer but the kids didn't mind. Room service daily, was ok. Tv had a goid few English speaking channels. Breakfast was not to our liking at all, didn't look nor taste appetising however, I believe that's personal as the other guest seemed to enjoy it. Fresh fruits bowls were good. We had lunch once, which was really good. Bare in mind it was Christmas week, so not much staff around. The few loungers outside required updating, as not very comfy or clean, but we used them anyway to catch a few winter sunrays. we didn't use the inside pool/spa. The pool is quite small and just dud nit appealing to me aesthetic wise. The staff were very helpful ordering us cabs and providing info. There is a well stocked convenient store literally 5 mins walk and a lidol around 15 mins walk. A cab will set you back 8euros into the local towns so try an Uber fir half the price. A lovely beach/marina about 8-10 minutes away. I personally wouldn't stay here again but I wouldn't not recommend it due to my personal choice and what I'm use too when travelling. We put in a request for a late checkout and was granted 2 extra hours which was most helpful for our later flight however, there is nowhere to lounge about (ie comfy sofas, private space) Ps things may look and feel a little different in the Summer months.

The room was huge, loved it! The breakfast has a Chef that made me fried eggs. The best breakfast in the whole trip.
