Overall, a good experience but be aware, as a family hotel and if you’re expecting an adults only, peaceful hotel, then this isn’t for you. In fact in places it felt like a big crèche with babies crawling around the buffet stands, toys all over the pool and parents of multiple nationalities ignoring their kids pulling at plants, irrigation hoses and on one occasion, electrical flex that ran through raised plant beds. This was an observation so most will say, it’s just the parents etc… it’s a review, so take it or leave it. Plus points were the food and staff - excellent food throughout, including CORE the lunchtime water front restaurant. The selection and replenishment at the buffet was also superb and overall food cannot be faulted. Equally so of the attentive and friendly staff. The hotel itself was nice but tired in places, mainly where it hadn’t been maintained over the close season. The gardens were lovely too. The usual sun lounger towel fiasco was prevalent with the quiet area full of people-less towels prior to breakfast and as normal, they sat vacant but for towels for a few hours. The beach is superb and a real plus - clean water, no rocks or pebbles by the hotel, and a lovely area. Overall, the hotel has a lot of excellent strengths as above. We had a room in the lower 200s, which sit in the floor beneath the buffet restaurant. So no alarm needed as from 0730 onward the scraping of chairs was enough to raise you from your slumber! Would we go back as a couple - no. We would have preferred a peaceful experience but it was far from it. For families it’s excellent however.
