Aparthotel Adagio Access Paris Porte de Charenton

The hotel is in a very convenient location, staff are great and the metro, restaurants and supermarkets are close by. The room was small but adequate, and suited our needs. Suburban area with family apartments close to the peripherique, our room was at the back looking over the balconies and gardens of an apartment block which was quiet, the front rooms overlook the motorway and city, which is probably a great view at night but potentially noisy. Convenient parking is available. Laundry service is available a block away.

Pest control and customer service are two things you want your hotel to be good at. When I found what appeared to be a bedbug in my room and presented the bug to the guy at the front desk, he dismissed my concern, blaming the presence of a bug on construction without addressing my specific concern that it looked like a bedbug. He barely looked at it before tossing it aside and when I pressed him on the matter, he said “look, I’m just a guy who needs to keep his job”. When I emailed hotel management about my concerns, they dismissed me again, without even looking at the photos I had taken of the bug. “Everything in the room is new, we could find no evidence of bugs and have never had a bedbug problem”, as though bedbugs care about the age of furniture and as though no past problems means no present or future problems. They refused to address my concern further, did not ask for more information and refused any potential form of compensation. By the end of the day I had received confirmation from an entomologist friend that it was a look-alike, but not a bedbug. I was relieved to not have an infestation on my hands, but completely disappointed by the lack of competency and care on the part of the hotel. They did EXACTLY what people do when they are dodge a problem they are worried they have.

When I arrived (a night booked for two months) a young couple was in the back of their room kitchen, it was hard to find my reservation (confirmed 5 days before my arrival).... The young woman eating dates, The man ended up finding keys and climbing alone on the floors ... He goes down with bass towels and there I understand!!!! I never had such a welcome, while renting in hotels at €50 per night, and never seen so much dirt in the elevator, the corridors, etc. I finally got a card that served keys, and there before the show that confirmed my doubts, I ask the staff to accompany me: All is dirty, toilets, bathroom, walls, windows, draps, earrings, floor 🤮 Before my questions, I am answered that there is a problem with the household staff, I suppose it's been a long time!!!! The man changed the draps, gave me 2 towels, but I admit I had sleeped dressed without washing me. I was tired, otherwise I would have been looking for another hotel. The worst thing is that he confirmed my words ... Don't go to this place, it deserves a message to the HYGIÈNE service. Moreover, I have so bad sleep because of bad sounding and oldness, following the television broadcast and the full conversation of another neighbor I forgot my ears, my dentist, my toothbrush and my telephone loader....😠😡

This hotel is absolutely amazing for such a small property. It's clear to me that the owner takes personal pride in managing this place everyday. Besides a minor mishap which got resolved quickly I really enjoyed the stay. We are ultra clean when home and also when traveling. We cannot believe this is a 2 star hotel. If you value cleanliness, this hotel is a 5 star. It shames many Park Hyatts and JW Marriott properties if you want a squeaky clean room and bath. It's simple and basic which is what we needed in the prime holiday season in June. The air conditioning was strong, even too cold. The location was also super convenient being close to 2 Metro stations. Two constructive criticism on front desk issues. 1. The front desk could use an upgrade in appearance. It's dark and does not give off good impression upon entering the hotel. 2. front desk personnels were all very professional and helpful. But I think a little bit of warmth and jokes can go a long way when dealing with jet-legged customers. I may also have been a bit too critical when I did encounter an issue but part of that likely is that my entire family was just so exhausted. Overall a great find. Would love to return when visiting Paris again.

Room was immaculate - small (what Paris hotel room isn’t?!) and good value for money. Hotel is located in a pleasant and safe area with a very traditional Parisian feel and lots of options for meals and transport. A special mention for Richard at reception - he was very kind and helpful during our stay. Unfortunately I left my purse behind in the hotel room after checkout- Richard left a couple of messages for me to let me know and as I couldn’t return to collect it, he very kindly and promptly posted it to my home in Australia. It arrived safely this week! The peace of mind knowing it was in safe hands for the rest of our travels made a real difference to us and many thanks to the hotel for the extra help. We would love to come back some day! :-)
