Hotel le Clos de Notre Dame

Quaint, I believe, is the one word description of this hotel. Rooms are small but comfortable and full of character. If you're going to go boutique vs chain hotel, Paris is the place to do so. This property has the added benefit of being just 50 meters or so from a metro station entrance (once you've figured out just which way to go when you get off the train) and is walking distance to Notre Dame, St Chappelle, the Louvre, the Latin Quarter, and much more.

Spent 6 nights at Le Clos de Notre-Dame, and really enjoyed it. It is a small boutique hotel in the heart of the Latin Quarter. Close to major attractions and the metro. For the location and what you get I found it great value for money. The room was cute, a bit on the smaller side, but I have stayed in much smaller rooms in other cities. The room was comfortable, but you are staying here more to enjoy and explore the city, and the hotel delivers on that.

A long weekend in Paris is about location and this place is perfect. It's in an alley way off St Michel Notre Dame so a little quieter than on the main road but it's perfect location. You can get a direct train from the airport to St Michel Notre Dame from which its a couple of minutes walk. However, we had to cab as St Michel Notre Dame station was closed for the RER train. All the restaurants are within walking distance and you can walk to the Louvre in about 15 minutes. I did read some of the negative reviews and lets address some of them about the odd marks here and there in the bathroom. You will get this in many 'Parisian' style hotels but I found our room to be clean and small. Many of these hotels have tiny rooms with tiny lifts so nothing unexpected here. The breakfast area is tiny. Yes it is, this is a boutique hotel with a small lounge area for breakfast and thus limited options for breakfast. Its a small selection of pastries and deli meats. Lets be honest you will not stay at this hotel to make a holiday out of it. There are plenty of nice boulangeries around where you can have some proper croissants, etc. However, for a quick tea and a light pastry breakfast in the hotel this is fine and no issue with quality of what they served. We did have tea and some quick pastry to start on one of the days. It's 3 star because of a lack of these bigger facilities. The room has everything you need for a quick stay. Room has a wardrobe with safe. There is a large TV and as one review commented the only English channel was BBC news. Yes, it would be nice to have one English channel showing some movies so when you get back in the evening you have something to watch. Hardly a deal breaker and you can access YouTube via the TV so you have some options. Shower was absolutely fine. Any taxi will not be able to drop you in front of the hotel as its in an alley way, but the road is about 10m from the front door so this shouldn't be an issue. Some people might complain about rolling their luggage a few meters to the front door but this was not an issue for us. There is a tiny lift but it's up a small flight of stairs so those with mobility issues, this might not be a good choice. I would recommend you speak to the hotel as they will look after you as best possible. I carried my luggage up to the first floor but the hotel receptionist carried my wife's luggage up. She was in the French Navy so a strong girl! What I really loved about this hotel was the people. We had the warmest welcome and they engaged with us every day to take care of our needs. As it's a small hotel they look to engage with their guests. I've been to Paris a few times but this is where I would stay again. It's perfect for exploring the City. A big thank you to Lamine and Fatime for making our stay so comfortable and warm. You put a smile on our faces every time we left and got back to the hotel. We'll be back.
