Hotel Monge

Fantastic stay at Hotel Monge - great location, personal service, beautifully appointed rooms, albeit they are a little cosy so consider a Deluxe room if you have lots of luggage. We’ll be back!

This is a lovely hotel in our favourite area of Paris-the 5th. The rooms were lovely, the mini bar a nice touch and the honesty bar a bonus. Staff were friendly and helpful re information and booking things. It was a 15 minute walk to the Seine and Notre Dame but it was the area nearby that we loved-Place de La Contrescarpe. Lots of lovely cafes and bars and a great vibe. Few tips to improve further-put wine in the mini bar as lots of us don’t drink beer, adjust the lighting in the honesty bar area at night so it is more ambient but otherwise, a fabulous find.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Hotel Monge in May 2024. It was simply fantastic. I keep coming back to this hotel as apart from all the excellent attributes that the hotel offers in terms of comfort and security, it is the hotel staff that make this hotel special for me. Thank you Salome, Alec, ladies at the front desk, the entire team, for making my stay truly memorable. Your hospitality, kindness and welcoming spirit are outstanding! My daughter and I stayed there May 20-25, 2024. Upon arrival warm greeting from Salome made us feel right at home: she reviewed hotel's features, gave us info re: foreign exchange, explained how honesty bar works and invited to have a cup of tea. We found all staff is genuinely happy to make your stay exceptional, in fact it was my birthday on May 23 and I was surprised and delighted to see flowers and balloons in the room later that evening . I want to stress unparalleled attention to detail from comfortable mattresses and beautiful amenities to a thoughtful welcome gift, drinks in the fridge replenished daily, coffee or tea on demand etc. Their steam room (also known as hamam) is such a wonderful feature of this hotel that we used it twice even with our very busy schedule. Besides cozy ambiance, location of the hotel is very good and we managed to accomplish all our sightseeing on foot, having counted 125,000 steps for the duration of the stay. There is a charming, yet practical market happening nearby (literally 2 minutes walk from the hotel) every Tuesday and Friday. Be sure to schedule it in, buy your cheese and charcuterie to bring to the hotel to enjoy with a cup of coffee or tea. On my next trip to Paris, Lord willing as it is a long way from Canada, it will be my hotel of choice. Big MERCI to the team of hotel Monge!
