LA LOUISIANE

We stayed for the third time in this charming hotel. Its strong point is certainly its location, in the heart of Saint Germain, which allows you to reach the city's places of interest very easily. Very professional and extremely kind staff.

Louisiana is a unique hotel in the heart of St Germain des Pres that I discovered by chance two years ago. It carries the charms of artistic and bohemian Paris. Its rooms are clean and comfortable but even more, there are stories of life in this colorful place. I can only warmly recommend this family hotel a stone's throw from the Seine, which contrasts radically with boutique hotels. Regular visitors know that when you live in Louisiana, it's Louisiana that lives in you!

I was surprised by the quality of the hotel compared to the price of the room: obviously, it's not luxury, but more than enough when you don't want to spend too much, especially in a group. Great location, warm welcome...really good for the unbeatable prices!

We have to leave the room, dilapidated and small, at 10 o'clock in the morning. No possibility to leave your luggage. When we arrive in the early afternoon we do not take possession of the room before 5 pm even if it is ready unless you pay an extra 10 euros. In short, very little respect for the client but a lot of interest in his portfolio.

A hotel which certainly had its charm 40 years ago but which cannot decently continue without major work because the dilapidation is reaching its climax, in the corridors, the elevator, and the rooms of course: patching up of the plasterboards, walls leprosy, broken accessories barely repaired, or even bleeding in the walls barely resealed... not to mention the state of the carpets. The rooms on the street are very noisy due to very early morning deliveries from the convenience store. Breakfast unavailable during the stay because kitchen "under renovation", but of course no prior information. We can admit the outdated vintage but not such negligence.

As a family we wanted to spend two days in Paris. The reservation: on RBnB, 152 euros taxes included, a few days before. The reservation is accepted for a supplement of 100€. I refuse then the hotel contacts me to discuss. On the phone, "the parental suite is for you, instead of 188€, I make it at 135". Arrival: we are early in the morning and drop off the suitcase, the reception accepts even if the suitcase will clutter them all day, nice. Checkin in the evening: friendly welcome, clean entrance, two rooms are assigned... The parental suite has disappeared. We go upstairs by the elevator, the doors open onto a work area, plastic sheeting on the ground, very small corridor with no indication of the direction to take. We enter the rooms, in one of them a fabric armchair with dubious brown stains, bare electrical wires in the bathroom, questionable hygiene (smell and mold). At night: no full nights, the curtains are too thin, the street remains lit. The walls are thin, make sure you have quiet neighbours... Check out: nothing to say, the welcome is smiling. We didn't take breakfast. Conclusion: by going to this hotel well located in the heart of Paris, you can negotiate a good price. Don't expect a palace, oh no, you are financing a hotel open during a period of intense work. To be tested again in a few years?

Very well placed and mythical because of the writers who lived there (Cossery in particular), this hotel seems to live on its past reputation. The bedding has been changed, at least in some rooms, and is very comfortable. The 5 p.m. arrival and 10 a.m. departure times are really very detrimental because you cannot leave your luggage at the hotel. No service is offered: not even the possibility of buying a bottle of water, but it is true that the area is full of resources, including late at night. The most disturbing point is the really rough cleanliness, especially in the bathroom, the toilet brush must be 10 years old, the mirror bears traces of toothpaste… and there is no trash can in the bathroom. Not recommended for hygiene freaks.
