Hotel Lena

We loved staying here! It's close to both Gare de Nord and Gare de l'Est stations which made it easy to get around Paris. The room was beautiful and clean with a view of the street. They have optional turn over service everyday to make your beds, get fresh towels and toilet paper. The room was clean, had a lovely bathroom, kettle and AC but no fridge. It was also a little noisy at night being on Rue de Magenta but it wasn't too much of a bother. There are a lot of restaurants, bars and supermarkets around which is very convenient. The hotel also has optional breakfast and a lift which made getting baggage to your room easy. If you ask for help, staff will help with baggage and anything you need since it's 24h. Will definitely recommend and stay here again.

We booked two rooms for our family. The hotel could be very nice, the rooms were small but clean and furnished nicely, the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was good, but a bit small in variety. However the gentleman managing breakfast was very friendly and helpful. The major thing bringing the review down for us was the bathrooms in the rooms. They are in desperate need of renovation. They were clean, but just old and need a lot of updating. The shower in one of our rooms was tiny- room 200 be specific. I am not exaggerating when I say I have seen phone booths that had more square footage then this shower- I am not sure if it was over 20”x20” If you dropped the shampoo or body wash bottle, you have to open the door to have space to move and pick it up- oh no shelf to put the soap or bottles on. Also the water went from an ok temperature to scalding hot in an instant.

The worst experience ever in a hotel problems started the minute we arrived!!! Booked hotel for 3 nights on my confirmation papers (I attached photo below) was clearly written full amount is paid and only tourist tax left to 31€ , to my shock they only took money for 1 night and I had to pay 350€ more, thanks god we had extra money, cause usually I take only amount I want to spend on a trip, so I don’t overspend, receptionist was very short tempered instead of calming me down shouted… then we discovered our room was on construction floor where other 3 rooms had construction guys working there from 8 in the morning and living there, outside our room we had don’t DND card but staff still unlocked and trying to get in the room FINALLY when we left 2 hours later I discovered that hotel took 700£ from my account saying that I broke the tv in the room which I never used all trip because I don’t speak French, when I called to discuss the issue they were making fun of me on the phone and actually manager never came to the phone, bare in mind the TV is old Samsung 30inch it cost max 200£ , I’m in talks with my lawyer to get the money back , but please stay away from this place

Our stay was great until the last minute we were about to check out. To be honest, I am hesitant to write this review yet I believe the Hotel could learn something and improve. We arrived hotel at about mid night and our room was pre-paid. During check in, since the room had been paid we only be asked the city tax which we paid with card. The Hotel is situated in a great location, very stragegic for public transportation, room was clean and quiet. Overall the room was really great value for money. Then the issue happened in the very morning when we were about to check out / chase our train. During check in unfortunately the staff miss booked 1 cent (0.01 euro) and we were asked to close the bill. We were cooperatively paying with 2 euro coin, then the staff give us 1.95 change without saying anything?? My wife counted it and asked them to return 1.99 to be exact. The staff was busy trying to find 4 cents and after 11 minutes they eventually gave the change completely. This kind of problem should not be happened in the first place. Our experience was all great and yet we left with not great memory about the hotel is very unfortunate. Hope this kind of issue could be discussed and the staff could handle it with more flexibility. It was the hotel who miss booked 1 cent and the customer was cooperatively cover the mistake.
